A tribute to one of the greatest minds in modern science, the Bremont Hawking Stainless Steel is a timepiece that fuses horology with history. Encased in a 41mm stainless steel case, this classically styled watch features a retrograde seconds hand and a grand date display, reflecting Bremont’s dedication to precision. The watch’s true distinction lies in its celestial and historical details. The case back is inlaid with four wooden discs, sourced from the very desk where Stephen Hawking contemplated the mysteries of the universe. At its centre, a meteorite fragment symbolises the vastness of space, surrounded by an engraving of the Oxford night sky on Hawking’s birth date. Further connecting it to his legacy, each watch is individually numbered on the original paper from his 1979 research paper, The ‘Nuts’ and ‘Bolts’ of Gravity. A fusion of science, time, and craftsmanship, the Bremont Hawking is a collector’s masterpiece.

About the Bremont Time Capsule Collection
While the entire brand language of Bremont surrounds the founders' passion for aviation, no other collection encapsulates it in a more wholesome fashion than the Time Capsule. It is a distinctive collection of only limited edition timepieces designed to commemorate conserving moments of history. Each watch is unique in the legacy it represents, elevated with a tangible touch of history added through the incorporation of genuine material and artefacts of the past. Yet, these watches carry a shared sense of aesthetics, ensuring the signature Bremont design sensibility is balanced with a soupcon of extraordinary.
The Capsules From The World War Era
Numerous editions within the Bremont Time Capsule collection are designed on the backdrop of World War. It started in 2011 with the launch of the Bremont P-51, a chronograph watch devoted to the 1944 Mustang WWII aircraft P-51K-10 used during combat with the Japanese in the Pacific. It was followed by the release of Codebreaker in 2013. Created in partnership with Bletchley Park Trust, this watch honoured Bletchley Park's indispensable role as the chief centre of code-breaking operations for the Allied forces during WWII. Released in 2018, the 1918 watches brilliantly incorporate the metal and wood veneer from four iconic aircraft of the WWI and WWII eras.
The Aviation Heritage
The Time Capsule collection features timepieces that honour iconic airplanes, including the Supersonic, released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Concorde passenger liner, the H-4 Hercules, which celebrates the famous 1940s aircraft by Howard Hughes, and the DH88. Also, quite exciting is the Bremont Wright Flyer, which includes a small piece of the muslin fabric of the first successful airplane.
Others
The famous Bremont Hawking, Hawking Quantum, Longitude, and Victory are other popular limited editions that complete the thrilling landscape of the Bremont Time Capsule collection.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Many Bremont day-date watches across collections use the self-winding calibre BE-36AE, which is a modified version of the Swiss ETA 2836. Consequently, it beats at a rate of 4Hz, is composed of 25 jewels, and provides a power reserve of 38 hours. Interestingly, Bremont also use this movement to power a few time-and-date watches by dexterously removing the day of the week ring. This modification alters a few specifications for the movement, like jewels, while maintaining overall accuracy and precision. The movement is visible through the caseback of a few watches, flaunting its fine finishes, including perlage, blued screws and a custom rotor.
