Geneva-based Singer Reimagined swear by the concept of taking, breaking, innovating, and remaking. Launched in 2017 by Rob Dickinson and Marco Borraccino, Singer Reimagined have already established a strong foothold in the world of horology with their unique take on chronographs. They brought home their first Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève award, just a year after their launch, garnering the Best Chronograph Watch prize in 2018 for the revolutionary Singer Track1 Hong Kong Edition. Since then, they have continued to build on this legacy, creating riveting collections of bold chronograph watches, where audacious design and mechanical ingenuity lead the way.
The Story Behind Singer Reimagined
Rob Dickinson is the founder of Singer Vehicle Design, an automobile design company established in 2009 that specialises in restoring, modifying, and reimagining classic Porsche 911s. In 2015, Dickinson met Marco Borraccino, a seasoned watch industry professional with extensive experience working for prestigious luxury watch brands in Italy and Switzerland. This meeting sparked a friendship that soon evolved into a professional partnership. Merging their distinct expertise—Dickinson’s in automotive restoration and design, and Borraccino’s in luxury watchmaking—they launched Singer Reimagined, a brand that unites their passion for engineering excellence and timeless design. Today, Singer Reimagined are renowned for their meticulously crafted timepieces, which combine bold aesthetics with high-performance chronograph movements, bringing the precision and beauty of luxury timekeeping to enthusiasts worldwide.
The Engines Of Singer Reimagined
With Singer Reimagined, co-founders Rob Dickinson and Marco Borraccino, strive to reinvent the iconic sports watches of the 1960s and 70s, with a special focus on automatic chronographs. Each Singer Reimagined timepiece merges vintage allure, evident in its barrel-shaped cases, with an innovative approach to the chronograph mechanism.
The debut Track 1 collection established this bold direction, challenging traditional chronograph layouts by placing the chronograph hours, minutes, and seconds prominently at the dial’s centre while relegating primary hours and minutes to rotating discs at the periphery. Similarly, the 2020 Flytrack collection also prioritises the chronograph function, positioning the minutes and flyback seconds centrally while shifting the hour markers to the periphery. Both collections offer distinctive iterations that explore and refine these design elements, like Track 1 Bold Edition and Flytrack Barista.
In 2023, the Singer Reimagined 1969 collection celebrated a landmark year for chronographs—when the Chronomatic, El Primero, and Calibre 6139 were all introduced. This collection pays homage to that era, once again centring the chronograph function with elapsed hours and minutes, while the primary time display is shifted to a subtle aperture at six o’clock. Most recently, the brand made history with the release of the world’s first mechanical diving chronograph, capable of measuring elapsed time up to 24 hours and tracking essential “surface intervals” during dives.
