Round-UpCalm, Classy, Comforting: Copper Dial Watches Are In Command

In recent years, a slew of timepieces have been launched in the distinct copper hue, indicating an upward trend. If one is looking to make a strong style statement, here’s a list of fabulous copper dial watches to choose from

May We Recommend

Wealth, stability, growth, and creativity are just a few of the qualities associated with the colour copper. It has been a popular choice for many seasons including the recently concluded fashion shows for spring/summer 2025. Interestingly, it has also become a trending hair colour, with actors such as Lindsay Lohan and Emma Stone embracing it boldly. It wasn’t surprising, then, when this trending hue made its way into the horological world, with prominent watchmakers such as Girard-Perregaux, Armin Strom, and Jaeger-LeCoultre featuring it on their watch dials. Independent Swiss watchmakers, Armin Strom recently released the Tribute 2 Copper Edition with its mainplate featuring a distinctive grattage design in an elegant copper hue, while Jaeger-LeCoultre presented the Duometre Chronograph Moon in a copper-coloured opaline dial at Watches and Wonders 2024. If one wants to jump onto the bandwagon and don a copper dial watch, here are a few options to consider.

The top five watches with copper-coloured dials in 2025 are:
  • Bell & Ross BR O3 Copper 41mm
  • Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43
  • Favre Leuba Raider Sea Bird Automatic
  • Girard-Perregaux Laureato 38mm
  • Tutima Glashütte Sky Chronograph T5

Bell & Ross BR-O3 Copper

Taking inspiration from military aircraft, French watchmakers with manufacturing in Switzerland, Bell & Ross launched the Instruments BR-03 series in their distinct ‘circle in a square with four screws’ design. Based on the aerospace world, the BR-03 watches are highly functional, aimed at professionals such as astronauts and military pilots. These timekeepers feature a minimalist dial with bold numerals and prominent hands to maximise readability—a core principle of the brand. One such timepiece from the collection is the 41mm steel BR-03 Copper, featuring a beautiful copper dial. Achieved through the process of galvanisation, the dial features embossed numerals and indices, filled with semi-matt black varnish, lending a retro charm to the watch. Furthermore, the matching date window placed between four and five o’clock take the well-balanced aesthetic up a notch, while the blue metallic hands offset the uniformity of the dial wonderfully. The watch is powered by the automatic calibre BR-CAL.302, providing an energy reserve of approximately 54 hours, and comes with a brown leather strap.

Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43

Breitling’s iconic Navitimer has gone through several iterations since its debut 71 years ago. Featured here is the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43, capturing the collection’s classic features, while simultaneously enhancing them with modern refinements. Presented in a distinct copper hue, the dial of this B01 Chronograph watch features a three-register layout in black, along with the circular slide rule that Breitling introduced with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) in 1952, allowing pilots to quickly perform flight calculations. Its dial also features the AOPA wings at 12 o’clock, evoking nostalgia. Housing the dial is a 43mm stainless steel case, with a water resistance of up to 30m. Powered by the automatic Breitling 01 calibre, this copper dial watch can run uninterrupted for 70 hours.

Favre Leuba Raider Sea Bird Automatic

The Sea Bird line carries the same sporty DNA as the Raider family, but with a sophisticated spin. Rooted in the 1960s—the golden era of dive watches—it combines robustness with elegance beautifully. Featured here is the Sea Bird Automatic watch in a 37mm cushion-shaped case, with a water resistance of up to 100m. Atop sits a polished double-decker bezel, where the inner part is tetradecagonal and the outer bezel is fluted. However, the beauty of this timepiece lies in its refined copper dial, wonderfully complementing the steel exterior. The dial features the brand’s signature hands and applique index markers, filled with lume for greater legibility in low-light conditions. Also, the white rectangular date window at three o’clock offsets the copper dial superbly. Run by the automatic ETA-2824-2 calibre, this timepiece can function for up to 38 hours when left aside, and is presented on a steel bracelet.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato 38mm

Sporty, swanky, timeless, and memorable, the Laureato was launched in 1975 as a luxury sports timepiece as the segment was witnessing a boom in the horlogerie space. In 2022, the house released the Laureato 38mm with an impressive copper dial. Just like its celebrated ancestors, it featured the distinct octagonal bezel, interlinked bracelet, and Clous de Paris motif on its dial. Last year, the brand passed on the baton to its successor, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato 38mm, featuring 56 diamonds on its bezel. In both versions, the copper-hued dial is adorned with a Clous de Paris pattern composed of multiple pyramidal structures and baton-type hour and minute hands with matching indexes. Additionally, the brand logo and date aperture at 12 and three o’clock blend with the background seamlessly, adding to the harmony of the dial. Both are powered by the automatic calibre GP03300, offering an energy reserve of at least 46 hours.
