First came the most likeable character from Disney’s The Muppets—Kermit the frog. His job was to induce lime green-infused happiness into one’s day. Once a month, the amphibian appeared to remind the wearer of the Oris ProPilot X Kermit edition to chill. After Kermit’s potent and pertinent message, Hölstein-based Oris now present an equally important update via another awesome Muppet: ‘be your own biggest cheerleader’. The Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy edition is a constant reminder of the confidence and charisma that the bold and fearless Miss Piggy stands for. Its hot pink dial and baguette diamond at the 12 o’clock marker make a statement about style. On the caseback is an image of Miss Piggy that can be seen through a small aperture. As the lilac rotor moves with the watch, the image disappears, reappearing again every once in a while, like a diva making an appearance based on her mood.

Peekaboo On The Caseback Of The Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy Watch
The Miss Piggy watch is the first time Oris have presented the ProPilot X timepiece in steel. This is a distinct break from titanium, which has thus far been the preferred choice of material for the ProPilot X, a series within the Big Crown ProPilot collection that first appeared in 2019. Sized at 34mm, the Miss Piggy watch is also much smaller than the mainline 39mm ProPilot X. The multi-piece steel case displays the ProPilot X line’s faceted edges, fluted bezel and relatively large pilot’s crown. Alternating brushed and polished finishing decorates the case and matching steel bracelet, enhancing the watch’s multi-dimensional aesthetic. Domed sapphire crystal glass with an antireflective coating protects the dial. With a water resistance of 100m, the watch is ideal for daily wear.
The caseback features mirror-polished steel. However, one doesn’t really miss the exhibition caseback here as a small, circular, mineral glass aperture offers a view of the lilac-hued rotor of the automatic Oris 531 calibre housed within. As the rotor moves, an image of a demure Miss Piggy appears within the aperture. And just like that, it disappears.
Pretty In Pink: The Fabulous Dial Of The Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy Watch
On the hot pink dial of the Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy edition, 11 pink hour markers blend in with the dial, letting the index at 12 o’clock stand out. A lab-grown baguette-cut diamond serves as the 12 o’clock marker, its faceted edges reflecting the light that hits the dial. This diamond adds glamour and a distinct bejewelled edge to the watch. Angular sword-shaped rhodium-plated hands are the other contrasting element on the dial. The dual-toned aesthetic of the watch makes a statement that will appeal to anyone with a bold sense of style.

“Like [Miss Piggy], we’re optimistic about the future, and we want to have some fun getting there. Life’s too short not to have big dreams and to enjoy yourself,” says Rolf Struder, co-CEO of Oris. “We made this watch for independent, stylish, and above all, fabulous individuals.”
Miss Piggy refused to let hardships define who she is. Instead, she believes she is a diva and cheers herself on every day. “Moi is fabulous simply because moi insists upon being fabulous! … The motivation has to start with YOU,” she states. And that’s where the Oris ProPilot X Miss Piggy watch does ‘fabulously’ well. Wearing this timepiece is enough motivation to push forward through the trials of the every day. And the secret on the caseback is like Miss Piggy motivating the wearer to make the most of their day, boldly and confidently.
