About the Rado Anatom Collection

For 2023, Rado presented a new interpretation of one of its iconic timepieces, the Anatom. In high-tech ceramic for improved ergonomics and a more modern design, this new watch was graced with a contemporary update while staying true to the unique design and anatomy of the original. The Rado Anatom was born on the expertise the brand gained with their non-circular watches developed earlier. Case in point — Manhattan, Glissière, and the V2200 models. The main highlight of these Rado watches was their unconventional case shapes, either rectangular or square. On the heels of these timepieces, Rado created the Anatom in 1983 as a handsome watch with a smooth square case featuring a slightly curved profile and a convex sapphire crystal. Instantly, the watch became a lesson in bringing strength and style together, an accessory that became one with the wearer’s wrist.

The New Rado Anatom Collection

On the 40th anniversary of the original Anatom’s release, Rado reintroduced this brilliant timepiece to their repertoire. The new Anatom collection was launched with three futuristic-looking iterations, all cast in black high-tech ceramic with an impressively moulded sapphire crystal set edge to edge with the case. While the iconic shape remains consistent with the original, these new models vary in size and texture in addition to material. The case of this Rado watch is a classic three-part design with a black PVD steel middle case and a steel caseback featuring a transparent sapphire crystal.

These watches for women and men in the new Rado Anatom collection come with brightly-coloured, gradient dials. They use a lacquered background with a satin-brushed finish, and the gradient hue is designed to get darker around the periphery. Surrounding the dial are rhodium-coloured applied indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova. Further, a date aperture sits at six o’clock, the brand signature and logo at noon, and an ‘Automatic’ script in white. The Rado Anatom watches are accompanied by textured rubber straps covered with high-tech ceramic and secured by a triple-folding steel clasp. They are powered by automatic calibre R766, featuring an extended power reserve of a whopping 72 hours and an anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

The automatic Rado calibre R766 is derived from the ETA 2892 movement, boasting 21 jewels with a date aperture positioned at six o'clock. However, the calibre has been slightly upgraded to provide an extended 72-hour reserve in contrast to the standard 42-hour power reserve of the 2892. It also features an anti-magnetic Nivacrhon hairspring. Rado timepieces utilising this movement can be found within the Diamaster and Anatom collections.
