About the Louis Erard Noirmont Métiers d'art Collection
Louis Erard frequently collaborates with independent artists and craftsmen, demonstrating their ability to preserve traditional artistry while infusing it with originality, all while keeping fine watchmaking accessible. The Noirmont Metiers d’Art collection embodies the essence of “Metiers d’Art”, a term that translates to “artistic crafts.” This concept comes to life through a range of decorative techniques, such as guilloche, enamelling, marquetry, and engraving. Each timepiece in the collection reflects a harmonious blend of history and innovation, with skilled artisans transforming watch dials into intricate works of art.
Where Art Meets Time: A Journey Through Noirmont Métiers d’Art Designs
The collection is defined by its distinctive approach to design, combining classic watchmaking elements with artistic experimentation. Among the series, the Excellence Émail Grand Feu, brings the ancient technique of Grand Feu enamelling to the fore. The dial, meticulously crafted in kilns exceeding 800°C, achieves a depth and vibrancy that exemplifies the mastery of this traditional craft. Limited to 99 pieces, this iteration highlights the blend of exclusivity and artistry that defines the collection. Equally compelling is the Le Régulateur Gravé Noir, which reinterprets the classic sector dial with a fine-grained black surface, rose-gilt accents, and fir tree hands. Another noteworthy iteration, the Petite Seconde Guilloché Anthracite Blue, features a hand-guilloché dial with intricate patterns radiating from the centre. It is paired with Louis Erard’s signature attention to detail in its Sellita calibre movement.
Pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship, the Excellence Guilloche Main showcases hand-guilloche dials with a striking 3D checked pattern that plays with light and depth. Similarly, the Marqueterie model brings miniature wood marquetry to the watch dial, an audacious choice rarely seen in horology. Each dial, crafted by artisan Bastien Chevalier, is a testament to the precision and dedication required to master such a technique. The collection also explores the use of fine stone dials, such as the Petite Seconde Lapis-Lazuli and Regulateur Malachite. These iterations combine natural materials with mechanical excellence, bridging geological time with contemporary design. The vivid blues of lapis lazuli and the vibrant greens of malachite lend an organic yet luxurious touch to these timepieces, reinforcing their status as wearable art.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The Swiss-made automatic Sellita SW261-1 calibre boasts 31 jewels and operates at a frequency of 28,800vph. One of its distinctive features is the small seconds sub-dial positioned at six o'clock, a characteristic commonly associated with manual-wind movements seen in vintage pocket watches. It's a delightful surprise to find this feature available in an automatic mechanism. This self-winding calibre also offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
