About the HAUTLENCE Sphere Series 1 Collection
In 2022, Hautlence embarked on a new chapter in their journey with the introduction of the Sphere Series 1. As part of their renaissance, the series represents a bold step forward, showcasing the brand's commitment to inventive time indications. Limited to only 28 pieces, this watch not only highlights their mechanical expertise but also reinforces their position as one of the most forward-thinking watchmakers in the industry.
Design And Features
True to Hautlence’s rebellious spirit, the Sphere Series 1 is far from conventional. Housed in the brand’s signature TV-shaped case, this timepiece makes an immediate impression with its distinct silhouette. The case measures 50.8mm across and 43mm end-to-end, giving it a bold wrist presence without compromising wearability. The retro-inspired case shape evokes a sense of nostalgia while blending seamlessly with modern materials and finishes, resulting in a unique blend of past and future. The watch’s multilayered frosted dial creates a three-dimensional visual effect, drawing the eye towards the 3D Globolight minute indexes. However, the true marvel of the Sphere Series 1 is its innovative time display.
At the heart of this watch lies the spherical jumping hour complication—an awe-inspiring mechanism where a Grade five titanium orb, coated in blue PVD, spins freely on multiple axes. Each hour is revealed as the sphere turns, offering a hypnotic and dynamic performance. Complementing it is a retrograde minute hand that glides across a sapphire minutes track before snapping back to zero, a theatrical reminder of the watch’s technical prowess. The interplay of mechanics and design is striking, making the Sphere Series 1 not just a watch but an artistic expression of time. Behind the bold design is the brand’s in-house A80 manual winding movement which offers a robust 72-hour power reserve. The movement's intricate construction allows for the flawless operation of the spherical jumping hour and retrograde minute display, driven by a system of four conical gears.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
At the core of Hautlence Sphere Series 1 and Sphere 2 lies the manually wound calibre A80, a masterpiece crafted in-house. Comprising 218 components, including 37 jewels, the A80 beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, ensuring accurate timekeeping. When fully wound, it generously offers a minimum power reserve of 72 hours. The movement has a captivating dual layout, visible through the the exhibition caseback. On one side, akin to the dial, there is a mesmerising hour sphere, while on the other side, the movement elements like the balance wheel, open-worked barrel, and ratchet wheel come to life. Calibre A80 drives the unique complications of the Sphere Series watches, such as the jumping hours and retrograde minutes.
