About the Eberhard & Co. Scientigraf Collection
The iconic 1961 model, the Scientigraf, made a triumphant return in 2021, updated to address the increasing prevalence of magnetising devices, such as mobile phones. This revival of the Scientigraf exemplifies Eberhard & Co.'s unwavering commitment to meticulous watchmaking, producing enduring and highly valuable timepieces. Originally introduced in 1961 to combat the magnetisation of mechanical watch movements, the Scientigraf has been reimagined for the modern era.
Features and Design
Eberhard & Co. unveiled a re-edition of this historic anti-magnetic watch, integrating various technical enhancements and streamlined design elements. At the heart of its anti-magnetic properties is a Faraday cage, named after the brilliant scientist who invented it. This structure, made of soft iron, acts as a shield for the watch movements, effectively absorbing magnetic waves and preventing them from reaching the delicate mechanisms.
The re-edition features a 41mm stainless steel case with an engraved screw-down caseback, maintaining the anti-magnetic design of the original 1961 model. It is available with a matte black dial, enhanced with a "galbé" finish, and offers two luminescence options for the indices and hands: vintage or orange. Completing the look is a choice of a black leather strap or the distinctive "Chassis®" steel bracelet. The caseback is elegantly engraved with a 1961 design inspired by magnetic fields, featuring the letter 'E' at its centre. Additionally, the Scientigraf Chrono, another model in the collection, also utilises the Faraday cage. This chronograph features a subtle and understated bi-compax display, adding a touch of sophistication to its anti-magnetic capabilities.
The Scientigraf, apart from the chronograph version, is powered by a self-winding Sellita SW 300-1 movement, beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering an autonomy of 42 hours. This reliable and precise movement ensures that the Scientigraf continues to be a testament to Eberhard & Co.'s dedication to exceptional watchmaking.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Selitta, renowned as one of the finest manufacturers of movements for esteemed watch brands and a direct competitor to ETA, produces the exceptional calibre SW 300-1. This movement rivals the ETA 2892-2, often surpassing it in terms of availability and cost-effectiveness. The SW 300-1 is a self-winding movement boasting a power reserve of 42 to 56 hours, effortlessly driving time and date display functions. With 25 jewels, it ensures smooth and reliable operation of all components.
