History
Originally founded in the small town of Lengnau by three brothers Fritz, Ernst, and Werner Schlup, Rado was named as the Schlup clockwork company at the time of its inception. Nearly a century has passed since the foundations of the company were laid in 1917, and now the brand has grown to a world renowned watch company, manufacturing nearly half a million timepieces every year. Each wristwatch manufactured by Rado is an epitome of perfection and has been developed by combining the hard work of exceptional designers, artisans and engineers.
Design
Launched under the D-Star collection by Rado, the R15517152 model exudes a raw masculine charm. Presented on a black ceramic bracelet with matching case, the watch is presented in one single tone. Crafted with perfection, this model is defined by a 46 mm case, which is far from shy. The dial enclosed within this case is elaborately detailed with minute marking on the perimeter and stick indexes as hour markers. At the 6 o’clock, 9 o’clock and 12 o’clock positions, Roman numerals adorn the dial to add a touch of uniqueness to the watch.
A red needle shaped seconds hand moves across the face of the dial flawlessly and provides the perfect contrast against the black shade of the dial. The current date is displayed efficiently through a rectangular window, which has been placed at the 3 o’clock position. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal makes the watch virtually shatterproof and increases its functional value.
Features
The silver tone hour and minute hands are luminescent to ensure legibility of time even in darkness. A battery operated Swiss quartz movement makes the R15517152 model a horological artwork in terms of reliability and precision. Being water resistant to a depth of 100 m, the watch will not be damaged even after prolonged contact with water.
