About the Panerai Radiomir Collection
The Panerai Radiomir collection is widely touted to have the richest history amongst all Panerai watch collections. Made in collaboration with the Italian Royal Navy's Lieutenant Commander Carlo Ronconi, the Panerai Radiomir was documented in a patent filed in 1916. It wasn't until 1936 that the first Radiomir was born. The Panerai Radiomir watch collection debuted as a remarkable innovation in the world of horology. It featured a highly luminescent dial, achieved through the use of radium-based paint. The extraordinary luminescence of Radiomir broke new ground, ushering in a new phase of clarity and practicality in timekeeping. This pioneering technique provided the dial with a distinctive glow, ensuring exceptional visibility in low-light environments. Today, the Radiomir collection sits at the fore of Panerai's portfolio and holds a special place in the hearts of Paneristas with its iconic cushion-shaped cases and exceptional practicality.
Design And Features
The styling of the case carries an authentic vintage aura with its curved and rounded appearance. Unlike the Luminor models that sport a patented crown-protecting device, the Panerai Radiomir watches contain wire lugs, a unique design that connects the straps to the case. With hand-wound or automatic mechanical movements topped with an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, the Panerai Radiomir collection is available in various dial sizes ranging from 42mm to 48mm.
Iterations
The current lineup of watches in the Radiomir collection surpasses in terms of power reserves, with the Tre Giorni version boasting a three-day reserve and the Otto Giorni stands tall with eight-day running autonomy. Panerai, known for their big case sizes, reduced the usual 45mm to 40mm and named the versions, Quaranta. These iterations are even further rendered in opulent materials and come with more complications like GMT, minute repeater, and more.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The P.9000 calibre is an in-house movement developed by Panerai, a luxury watchmaker within the Richemont Group. This movement was first introduced in PAM305. It was created in collaboration with Valfeurier, a subsidiary of the Richemont Group specialising in movement development. The P.9000 calibre is used in a range of Panerai watches, including the Luminor 1950, Radiomir, and some Submersible models. It is an automatic calibre with a three-day power reserve and a distinctive technical design that sets it apart. Notable features of the calibre include two barrels providing 72 hours of power reserve and a single rotor that winds in both directions using an automatic ratchet device. These unique characteristics make the P.9000 movement instantly recognisable.
