About the Longines Saint-Imier Collection Collection
Essence
Be it in sporting competitions to decide the accuracy until a fraction of a second or on the wrists of world leaders, Longines watches have come to define a class by themselves. The company has been located in Saint Imier, a Swiss village since 1832 and has long-standing ties with the same. Being the lone watchmaker that was set up in St.Imier, it remains true to its historical values of tradition, elegance and sport. Therefore, it was only fitting that the company should launch a collection true to its native village.
Design
This collection comes in elegant round-shaped cases. The materials used to craft the cases are mostly 18 carat pink gold or stainless steel. The bracelet is either made of stainless steel or alligator strap. The glass coating of the watch is a scratch-resistant, skillfully made sapphire crystal. An anti-reflection coating is provided on the underside of the glass. This makes sure that it can be used even in the sunniest of weather.
Features
Adding to its all-purpose use, this watch comes with a water resistant capacity of up to 3 bars of pressure. In terms of functions, the watch has a self-winding mechanical movement beating at 28'800 vibrations per hours and providing 40 hours of power reserve. Some other watches in this collection provide up to 54 hours of power reserve. Certain watches in this collection have a chronograph mechanism. The hours are marked in Arabic numerals and indexes with Super-LumiNova coating for low light visibility.
Associations
A long line of celebrities has been associated with Longines. Simon Baker, the lead actor in The Mentalist, wore the Saint- Imier model L2.752.5.72.7, a stainless steel and 18 carat gold watch with self-winding mechanical movement, date and column-wheel chronograph L688 in his first promotional shoot as a Longines ambassador. Baker joins a prestigious line of celebrities who have been associated with the same, which includes Aishwarya Rai, Kate Winslet and the legendary Andre Agassi to name a few.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The Longines calibre L619 is a marvel of precision engineering, built upon the reliable foundation of the ETA 2892-A2 movement. Adorned with a branded rotor and embellished with exquisite Geneva stripes and perlage decoration, this calibre comprises 21 jewels and boasts a 42-hour power reserve. Beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, it not only drives the fundamental hours, minutes, and seconds functions with seamless accuracy but also powers a sophisticated date complication. It makes some of the watches in the Flagship, Spirit, and Master collections tick.
