Product Description
History
Longines, a prominent luxury watch manufacturing brand came into being in the early 19th century. It was founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832. Agassiz began his career with a firm that traded watch parts and soon became extremely interested in the field. He initiated his company in no time and his collection of watches became immensely popular. Agassiz advertised his time pieces in distant markets and eventually earned recognition. The company is now owned by the prestigious Swatch Group.
Design
This simple yet sophisticated watch that belongs to the Longines Master Collection comes with a stainless steel case and a silver textured dial. The dial has black Arabic numerals and blue hands. Longines’ emblem printed in black looks greatly attractive. Its polished stainless steel strap with folding clasp matches its fixed bezel.
Features
The Longines L2.708.4.78.6 comes with calibre 602 automatic movement. It has a power reserve of 42 hours. This watch also houses a power reserve indicator which rests between the 5 o’ clock and 7 o’ clock position. The timepiece also includes the date function which is positioned at 3 o’ clock. The beautiful dial of this luxury watch rests underneath the sapphire crystal glass which is scratch- resistant. This glass material is also anti-reflective and thus offers a clear view of the time even in harsh sunlight. The watch is water-resistant too, so you may flaunt it even as you indulge in your favourite water sports.
Timekeeper
The brand has been associated with various sports events ever since its initiation. The most recent one is the Common Wealth Games 2014 held in Glasgow.
