We’ve always known Corum to have a strong identity and that reflects in everything they do. Between their four strong pillars – Admiral’s Cup, Golden Bridge, Bubble and Heritage – we have seen some extraordinary watches in the recent past. However, there is a fifth, which has been relatively out of the limelight, but this year, it’s back, and we’ve taken notice. The new green Romvlvs is here and it’s a treat for the eyes.

Corum Reviving The Forgotten Art Of Hobo Coins And More
A significant change to a signature line is the art that we can now see on the new Corum watches. Known to establish fruitful collaborations with artists extraordinaire for their Bubble watches, Corum has now extended a part of their artistic partnerships to another brand pillar – the Coin watch – with etched illustrations on the signature $1 or $20 dollar coins that are split and set with a movement, forming the dial of these watches. These new Coin watches are called the Hobo Coins.

The Bubble watch also has something new for fans of magnified art seen through the Bubble’s domed sapphire glass. This time, the collaboration is with artist Juliette Jourdain whose creation has made its way to the dial of a beautiful purple PVD-treated steel case with a white leather strap. This piece is complete with a real bluejay feather set into the artwork.

The biggest update in the Bubble series this time, though, is in the Bubble 47mm Tourbillon, which incorporates a central tourbillon, realised by a movement created exclusively for Corum. This is the first time the prestige complication has become a part of the Bubble series in a watch that isn’t a custom-made piece. The tourbillon shines in all its glory as the centrepiece in this watch, especially owing to its domed glass.

The Infusion Of Music And Colours In Its Latest Innovations
And then there’s the new Golden Bridge Rectangle, which also reflects an association with the performing arts. A by-product of Corum’s partnership with music composer and orchestrator Joachim Horsley, this watch features a metallic depiction of the musical notes of an extract from Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Of course, the signature and distinctive Admiral’s Cup line has undergone exciting changes as well.

Now available in three different colours, the Admiral 45 Skeleton infuses colours in its skeleton display on its open-worked date disc. These timepieces are in black PVD titanium, while there are also versions available in regular titanium, with coloured and exposed date discs that are in the same hues as the rubber straps of their respective watches.
With that, all collections of Corum have had noteworthy additions, each of them a wonderful and impressive talking piece in their own right. There’s no doubt that Corum is comprehensively upping their ante with all their offerings, and that just makes me want to see what they do next!
