“It doesn’t tell time, it tells history.” The latest tagline by Rolex succinctly captures the rich legacy of this brand that has been worn over the years by the greatest statesmen, sportspeople and Hollywood icons in the history of time. The Rolex M116234-63600_ SIL 10 BR men’s watch does justice to the preeminent brand by combining the style and substance of its great patrons. The watch exudes classic elegance with its steel band and case. The Date Just, always at a round, universally becoming case size of 36 mm makes the watch a winner for every occasion.

The sparkling silver hue of the timepiece is further accentuated by the diamond encrusted hour markers for an appearance that spells understated luxury. Also featuring a prominent date window to never let you miss out on important commitments, the watch is a combination of flair and functionality. Adding a touch of minimalist elegance to the watch are the stick hands that complement the diamond hour markers.

A certified chronometer, its accuracy is unparalleled regardless of external conditions. With a water resistance of 100 meters, the watch can be worn on the cruise, while swimming and even while bathing.

The sapphire crystal case window material ensures that the watch is shatter –proof and scratch resistant, thus enhancing its longevity for decades if not generations. Moreover, its anti-reflective property allows you to tell time even in harsh sunlight. An automatic movement not only allows the watch to simply function from the energy harnessed through the daily movements of your hand but also saves you from the tedious task of replacing your battery every now and then.

History
The Datejust collection was introduced by Rolex in the year 1945. This was the first wristwatch to display automatically changing date through an opening on the dial.

Features
Featuring a classic design and iconic style, the Datejust features a date window located at the 3 o’clock position for your ease in viewing. The date aperture showcases the Cyclops lens on the top, the most distinctive feature of Rolex watches. This lens magnifies the date by approximately two and half times for clear legibility. The watches in this collection have an oyster case, which is clamped shut and extremely robust. The core of the oyster consists of a screw-down case and a signed screw-down crown with twinlock system. This system renders the watches water-resistant up to 100 metres, enabling you to wear them for poolside swimming and snorkelling. The Datejust watches come with two classic Rolex bracelets, either the Jubilee or the Oyster. The Jubilee is a five-piece metal link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp fitted at the end, and the Oyster is a broad three-piece metal link bracelet, which is quite popular because of its classic appeal. These watches have a standard 36 mm case, and are equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex, the calibre 3135.

Associations
A Datejust was presented to an eminent gentleman by Hans Wilsdorf in 1947, on the 100,000th officially certified chronometer celebrated by the brand. The identity of this gentleman has not been revealed till this day. Christian Bale was seen wearing the Rolex Datejust 16013, in the movie American Pyscho. A Datejust has also been worn by Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, Bill Murray in the film Lost in Translation, and by various male characters in The Informers.
