The Perpetual Moon Steel by Arnold & Son captures the majesty of lunar complications with a design that is both sophisticated and striking. Encased in polished stainless steel with a generous diameter of 42mm, the watch radiates refined elegance. The bold design is accentuated by its deep blue guilloché dial, which exudes depth and texture. At the centre of attention is the oversized moonphase aperture, adorned with a luminescent moon that is meticulously hand-painted to achieve a lifelike glow. The moonphase indicator, positioned at the upper half of the dial, is not only visually captivating but also one of the most accurate in modern horology. It requires correction only once every 122 years, reflecting the precision of Arnold & Son’s engineering. Surrounding the moonphase display is a graduated arc representing the lunar cycle, adding a dynamic element to the design. Beneath its stunning exterior lies the A&S1512 manual-winding calibre, a testament to the brand’s commitment to technical excellence. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement is finely decorated with Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and hand-chamfered edges. With a power reserve of 90 hours, this calibre ensures uninterrupted performance over extended periods. The watch is paired with a blue alligator leather strap, complementing the dial’s rich hue and offering superior comfort.

About the Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon Collection
At Baselworld 2013, Arnold & Son launched the world's largest moon phase display with their Perpetual Moon collection that spotlighted this celestial complication boldly in a sizeable aperture of 29mm. With such a spectacular display of the moon phase coupled with brilliant craftsmanship, the Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon collection invites wearers to an aesthetic watchmaking journey.
The Chronicles of the Perpetual Moon
The ultimate charm of these Arnold & Son watches lies in the dial. Therefore, an array of intricate designs, the use of exclusive materials, and the application of beautiful gemstones are rife on the dial that holds the watch's lodestone — the moon phase indicator. Naturally, this moon phase aperture is even more exquisite as it mimics the beauty of the night sky. Alongside a realistic depiction of the moon, this display carries recreations of two constellations — the Big Dipper and the Cassiopeia. The choice of these constellations is quite discerning, for they were used by navigators in the Northern Hemisphere to find the North Star.
Features
These Arnold & Son watches for men and women are offered in a slew of case sizes and are also available in different materials such as red gold, platinum and stainless steel. Most Perpetual Moon watches are powered by the in-house movement A&S1512, whereas the 38mm version for women is driven by A&S1612. Both these movements are manually wound and offer a power reserve of 90 hours while beating at 3Hz or 21,600vph. These calibres are meticulously constructed to ensure moon phase accuracy for 122 years. Visible through the case, they are finished impeccably, showing traditional decoration, such as Côtes de Genève stripes, chamfering, bevelling, and polishing. Though inside the 38mm version, the A&S1612 movement takes charge.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The A&S1512 calibre, designed for Arnold & Son's moon phase watches, is a manual-winding movement. It is 5.35 mm thick and is equipped with twin barrels operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (vph), providing an impressive 90-hour power reserve. The A&S1512 offers exceptional moon phase accuracy, deviating only by one day every 122 years. The movement is beautifully decorated with hand-finished chamfering and polished edges on the bridges, as well as Côtes de Genève striping, circular graining, and blued screws. One of the standout features of this calibre is the secondary moon phase indicator visible through the caseback, a unique and captivating addition.
