Doxa SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US Divers Sharkhunter

History

Back in 1967, Doxa launched the SUB 300 and these timepieces instantly grabbed the attention of Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Jacques was fond of Doxa and was also the co-founder of Aqua Lung, a firm dedicated to building marine diving equipment. In 2020, Doxa decided to collaborate with Aqua Lung and launch a limited-edition iteration of the SUB 300 Carbon called the Doxa SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US Divers which is limited to just 300 timepieces.

Features

The limited-edition Doxa SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung US Divers collection is a SUB 300 to its core but with a lighter approach. Made with forged carbon, the Doxa SUB 300 Aqua Lung offers a sturdier case with a lighter weight on the wrists. Forged carbon is different from carbon fibre as forged carbon is compressed under heat and pressure providing better structural integrity. Apart from a 42.5mm forged carbon case, the collection features a two-tone bezel. The outer bezel is used to measure the depth of the dive while the inner bezel tells the time taken to reach that depth. The SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung also features a date window at the 3 o’clock marker. Whereas, the ‘Aqua Lung’ logo is fixed between the 7 and 8 o’clock markers.

Movement

The SUB 300 Carbon Aqua Lung is fitted with the COSC certified ETA 2824-2 movement. A movement offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and vibrates at a frequency of 28,800 vph.
