A stylish time piece with minimum detailing, it has a black dial in a steel and 18 ct yellow gold case. It is engraved with yellow gold toned Arabic numerals and hour hands. There is a date display window at 3 o’ clock and the bezel is fluted. The five link bracelet has been crafted with steel and 18 ct yellow gold. The time piece has a case size diameter of 36 mm and it is water resistant to 100 m. It has a perpetual, mechanical self- winding movement and it has been crafted with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal.

The Datejust collection was introduced by Rolex in the year 1945. This was the first wristwatch to display automatically changing date through an opening on the dial.

Featuring a classic design and iconic style, the Datejust features a date window located at the 3 o’clock position for your ease in viewing. The date aperture showcases the Cyclops lens on the top, the most distinctive feature of Rolex watches. This lens magnifies the date by approximately two and half times for clear legibility. The watches in this collection have an oyster case, which is clamped shut and extremely robust. The core of the oyster consists of a screw-down case and a signed screw-down crown with twinlock system. This system renders the watches water-resistant up to 100 metres, enabling you to wear them for poolside swimming and snorkelling. The Datejust watches come with two classic Rolex bracelets, either the Jubilee or the Oyster. The Jubilee is a five-piece metal link bracelet with a concealed Crownclasp fitted at the end, and the Oyster is a broad three-piece metal link bracelet, which is quite popular because of its classic appeal. These watches have a standard 36 mm case, and are equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured by Rolex, the calibre 3135.

A Datejust was presented to an eminent gentleman by Hans Wilsdorf in 1947, on the 100,000th officially certified chronometer celebrated by the brand. The identity of this gentleman has not been revealed till this day. Christian Bale was seen wearing the Rolex Datejust 16013, in the movie American Pyscho. A Datejust has also been worn by Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, Bill Murray in the film Lost in Translation, and by various male characters in The Informers.

This is a watch every man dreams of owning since college days. And then, after years of fantasizing yet holding back because of the price, one day he rewards himself with this watch, may be to celebrate a promotion or may be a gift on an anniversary. The watch is exquisitely styled with gold on the strap and case, but more importantly, looks do not matter for a Rolex. It is a status symbol,a totem that symbolizes success, and can well differentiate a successful man from an ordinary one.The watch features an automatic movement and has a date window. The sapphire glass material is scratch-resistant.Do these features justify the price?Well, its not a watch....its a ROLEX!
