Rado had its beginnings in the Schlup and Company, a small watch-movement manufacturing factory in the Swiss town of Lengnau. The three brothers who collaborated to establish the factory were firm believers in the progress of technology. In 1957 therefore, they launched their first brand of watches under the brand name of Rado. In 1968, this company was taken over by the ASUAG. A few years later, SMH acquired the group. In 1998, the SMH changed its name to call itself the Swatch Group.
Innovators of technology since its inception, Rado marketed the world’s first range of scratch-proof watches, the Rado DiaStar, in 1962. They also introduced the use of hardmetal, ceramics, Lanthanum and sapphire crystal into the watch-making industry. In 2004, Rado received an award from the Guinness Book of World Records, for having manufactured the world’s hardest watch, the V10K.
A sleek device from the Rado Centrix collection for men, this duo-toned watch combines comfort with substance. The sturdy stainless steel bracelet is accentuated by the alternating black ceramic inserts. It is clasped onto the wearer’s wrist, by a push-button enabled deployment clasp.
The smart black dial has silver-tone luminescent hands and stick hour indices. Minute markers are etched on the outer rim. Rado’s scratch-proof sapphire crystal covers the dial to keep it looking new.
The watch is encased in a stainless steel case, which makes the watch a great match with of outfits.
This sophisticated watch uses a Quartz movement to update the date, hour, minutes and seconds. A neat date window is placed at the 3 o’clock position to enhance the convenience of the wearer. In addition, the watch-mechanism remains unharmed even if it suffers an accidental liquid spill, as it is water resistant up to 30 metres, thus delivering on the Rado promise of durability.
From day one Rado has turned visions into concrete realities. Pushing the boundaries of material technology and continually introducing the unexpected, Rado has gone from strength to strength in the field of fine Swiss timekeeping since 1957 and has produced one revolutionary watch after another.
The shape and style of the Rado Centrix collection makes it a watch to desire. The tapered, lightweight, flexible bracelet gently and sensually embraces the wrist, offering exquisite comfort and grace, as well as uncompromising luxury and sophistication. Every Centrix is crafted to perfection.
Andy Murray, Hrithik Roshan are among some of the famous personalities to endorse the Rado collections.
