Longines The Longines Master

History
Introduced in 2005, the Longines Master Collection is a sub-collection of the brand’s Watchmaking Tradition. It comprises timepieces made with diverse metals like yellow gold and pink gold, in a myriad of case sizes, and stylish dial designs like their innovative black dials. Many of the watches also sport diamonds set onto their dials for a perfect appearance. Apart from these structural designs, the collection offers many user-friendly features, which have not only revolutionised timekeeping, but also added a touch of originality to the watch-making business.

Design
The L2.717.4.78.5 model highlights the watch-maker’s highly praised superior technological know-how and artistic sensibility to the fullest. Offering a combination of fashion and function, the model offers something to both the horological fans and the regular man. It comes with a 44mm case made of steel, and strap of high quality leather gives this timepiece an understated style, but a strong masculine appeal.
 The munificent dial has hour markers in Arabic numerals, and brushed hands for indicating time. Beside conventional time display functions, this Longines model also offers additional functions in the form of a day counter at the twelfth hour, and a perpetual date display design. To access these functions, the watch sports strong and easy to grip pushers and crown. While the dial’s outer border features minute markers for convenient use, the watch sports a lens made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for protection.

Features
The watch can be taken to a depth of 30m, and can even handle liquid spill or water splashes. For a swift movement of the hands, and functioning of its secondary offerings, it comes equipped with an automatic movement. Another feature that makes the watch extremely versatile is its day and date designs for a smooth calendar function.
