History The SAXONIA Collection of A. Lange & Sohne is named after the company’s homeland, Saxony, the autonomous state situated in the heart of Germany. Introduced 20 years ago, as one of the archetypal collections of the brand, that has successfully combined beauty and functionality, the collection truly reflects the values and accomplishments of the state. Since the time of its creation, the SAXONIA has become an indispensable part of the manufactory’s repository. What made this collection to stand out is its artistically chiselled face with nuanced variations. Since Saxony, the independent region of Germany is renowned for centuries-old traditional watch making artistry and deeply entrenched penchant for aesthetics; this one-of-a-kind collection came up with such compelling range of models that it became a benchmark for every other watch model to emulate. The simple, yet lavish SAXONIA collection carries the resonance of the prosperity of Saxony region during the famous Baroque time period.
Design The Saxonia Collection was reintroduced in the year 2007, to offer comparatively sleeker and understated design patterns. Crafted with rose, yellow or white gold, the buyers can take their pick. The collection is characterized by fine contours, gold fasteners, red jewels, blue screws, etc with seconds’ sub-dial, minute tracks, Arabic numerals and appliquéd solid gold hour markers being shifted to the periphery of the dial. As each one of you is special, the collection is available in assorted range of colours, styles and designs.
Features Like other A. Lange & Sohne timepieces, the SAXONIA wristwatches are also powered with the mechanical movement, Calibre L941.1 as opposed to the widely used quartz movement. Its flawlessly formed details, superb legibility, understated elegance and great technical precision make it a much coveted collection among the watch connoisseurs of the world. Finally, the models in this collection carry an approximate power reserve of 45 hours. Recently in January 2015, the SAXONIA collection has unveiled the three new-generation models – Saxonia, Saxonia Dual Time and Saxonia Automatic to include recessed dials with double baton indices at the 12, 9, 6 and 3 o’clock position of the dial. Epitomising Saxon watch making artistry, the SAXONIA models have lived up to the expectations of the watch aficionados.
