It was the far sighted vision of founder Hans Wilsdorf that led to Rolex being the first brand to create the concept of wrist watches. This brand is known all over the world for its outstanding designs and ground-breaking technology.
The M118235F-83205_ PINK ROMAN Rolex watch has a case made of Everose Rolessor, which is a great combination of 18 karat Rose gold and 904 L steel. A fluted bezel mounted on the case, which is characteristic of Rolex watches, enhances the beauty of the watch. The dial is white and features the hand and the hour markers of the watch in the same colour as the bezel. Indexes on the dial, are depicted through Roman numerals. In place of the twelfth hour index you can see a window displaying the day of the week. In place of the third hour, the date window has been placed.
The bracelet of the watch is made of the flat, connecting three links and has the Easy Link Oyster clasp with the Rolex emblem on it. A scratch proof sapphire crystal protects the dial from damage. Use of a Cyclops lens placed above the date feature facilitates easy viewing, as it allows the date to be magnified by 2.5 times its actual size.
This model from Rolex is extremely beautiful to look at and is packed with features. The watch uses a paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, which is patented by Rolex. This technology allows the watch to be resistant to damages from shock and pressure. Tested by Swiss standards, this chronometer provides great precision, proved by a series of extreme testing. With a caliber of 3155 and a mechanical movement at its heart, this timepiece offers smooth functioning. This watch is also waterproof to a depth of 100 metres or 330 feet. This is made possible through the Oyster case technology, which screws the bezel and the casing together like an oyster, so that the watch remains clamped shut.
Day-Date was launched by Rolex in 1956, and was the first watch to display both the day and date. The watches have the day of the week shown in full alphabets and are available in a wide variety of languages.
The Day-Date watches come in 18 carat gold, and 950 platinum with smooth, fluted, or gem studded bezels, giving an array of options to its patrons. There are unique dials in refined colours with the date display at the 3 o’clock position and the day display at the 12 o’clock position. The patented Cyclop lens is situated above the day window, like all other Rolex watches for your ease of viewing. This lens is also made of shatterproof sapphire crystal rendering it scratch resistant. The Oyster case in the collection has a fluted screwed down caseback. The winding crown features the twinlock system, which renders the watch waterproof up to 100 metres. Thus you can wear the timepiece while snorkelling or pool-side swimming. Select watches from this collection have alligator leather straps with an 18 carat gold Crownclasp while the others have Oyster metal bracelets with flat three-piece links or President metal bracelets with semi circular three-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp. The Calbre 3155, a self-winding mechanical movement, powers the watches in the Day-Date collection.
The Rolex Day-Date watches have been worn by many celebrities in various movies including Alec Baldwin in Glengarry and Ray Liotta in Goodfellas.
