Raymond Weil was started in 1976, and soon became an international brand in the watch industry. The creator of this brand, Raymond Weil, relies on skilled craftsmanship and uniqueness. He combines it with reliability and precision. He also amalgamates his love for watch making with that of music. His collections are mostly centred on music or family. The company is also renowned for constantly evolving and mixing the traditional with the modern. It has changed three hands since its inception, but has stayed firmly rooted in the Weil family. After Raymond Weil, it was his son in law, Olivier Bernheim, and currently Weil’s grandson, Elie Bernheim is the CEO. All of them maintain the core values of the company and the love for music.
The Tango 5391-ST-00995 is a silver on silver watch for ladies. It has a silver textured dial, with a diameter of 28 mm, and thickness of 6.55 mm. Hours marked by diamonds in 8 places, and Roman numbers act as markers at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions respectively. The diamonds, a total of eight, are 0.02 carats each, brilliant cut 32/24-VVS2 to VS1. The rim of the case has six screw; a signature of the Tango collection.
The luxurious dial rests on a full stainless steel bracelet, which clasps through a double folding and double security system. The lacquered crown has the trademark RW logo on it. This time piece is a boundless beauty, and caters to all occasions.
The Swiss made Tango 5391-ST-00995 has quartz movement, with a calibre of 2.5 mm height. It is water resistant up to 100 m. Sapphire treatment on both sides, makes it anti-reflective and scratch-proof. The date function is performed by a large window at 3 o’clock.
Erol Ozan once said, “dancing is creating a sculpture that is visible only for a moment.” Raymond Weil adds a new dimension to this concept by crafting sculptures that are passionate, sensual, glamorous, and last for a lifetime. The Tango collection draws inspiration from the rawest dance form of all, Tango. Watches from this line give men and women a chance to observe a Tango between the two attributes Raymond Weil is renowned for- artistry and technique. Launched in 1995, the collection continues to mesmerize and dazzle even almost twenty years later.
The distinguishing characteristic of timepieces from the Tango collection lies in the six exposed screws embedded on the bezel, adding a raw element to the line. The round and rectangular shaped cases are made from stainless steel for ethereal glamour, and may be coated with yellow or rose gold PVD. Certain watches from the women’s version come inlaid with gems on the bezel in addition to the screws, to depict the glamour and lustre that comes hand in hand with being the female partner of the Tango. Watches from the Tango are available with dials in varying shades of white, black, and blue, with a centre having intricate workings that display Raymond Weil’s immaculate crafting skills. The time intervals are marked with Roman numerals, indexes, and gems.
The quartz movement of the Swiss made watches from the Tango collection ensures accurate timekeeping for the connoisseur. With single or dual date windows, certain chronograph editions of the men’s watches come with three subdials for seconds, 30-minute, and 12-hour intervals. The dial is protected by sapphire glass crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The stainless steel bracelets are available in two toned or pure options with double push folding clasps, while some watches have calf leather motif straps with traditional buckles.
