Rado was established in the year 1917, and since then it embarked on a journey of success and worldwide recognition. The watch making company was set up under the collective initiative of three brothers, Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup. They called it the Schlup & Co., and started small, producing clockworks only for the first forty years. In 1957, the watch house launched its first collection of watches, and it was then that the company came to be known as Rado. The luxury watch house has been associated with a number of innovations, most notable among them being their use of sapphire crystal, lanthanum, diamonds, and hi-tech ceramic in the art of watch making. The company has received several international awards for their unique designs.
The Rado R20746901 is a silver rectangular time piece for women. The rectangular stainless steel case has a width of 23 mm, and thickness of 7 mm. It has a white mother of pearl dial, with six 0.25 carat diamonds marking the hours, giving this watch a royal appearance.
The graceful case rests on a stainless steel and ceramic bracelet. The bracelet has titanium double folding clasp, with push button, and sits securely on the delicate wrist of the woman wearing it. The bezel has mirror effect. It has a pull and push crown on the side, completing its simplistic look. It is an extremely elegant and sophisticated time piece.
The watch belongs to the Integral Jubile collection, and has quartz movement. Along with the hour and minute function, it performs the date function through a date window at the 6th hour. It has been treated with sapphire crystal, and is water resistant to a depth of 30 m.
Rado was formed in 1917 as, Schlup and Co., which produced watch movements only. With the launch of its collection of watches in 1957, under the name Rado, it amazed the world with its innovations. Today with 470 skilled workers the brand produces half million watches every year.
First produced in 1986, the Rado Integral was the first Rado watch in high-tech ceramic. A revolution in the watchmaking industry, it fuses the purity of graphic linearity with the finesse of high technology, seamlessly integrating a metallised sapphire crystal, case and bracelet within parallel lines. This new collection remains true to the original but is new for 2014.
Rado has won the Good Design Award for its innovative Hyperchrome Ceramic Touch in 2013 and 2014 by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.
