Launched in 2009, the Constellation collection still remains rooted to The Constellation Manhattan watches from 1982. The “griffes” or claws, which Omega introduced in its original Constellation range endured the tests of time and even today the watches make use of this iconic feature for an additional aesthetic value.
The Constellation Quartz 27 mm 184.108.40.206.02.003 model is tooted in the pioneering spirit of the brand. A remarkable work of horological art, the model is sleek and exudes a feminine charm. Elegant and sophisticated in appearance, this model is an epitome of simplicity.
Meant for fitting the slender wrists of women, the Constellation Quartz 27 mm 220.127.116.11.02.003 model features a stunning silver dial measuring 27 mm in diameter. Embellished with raised hour markers crafted from 18k red gold and two toned dauphine hour hands, the watch has a timeless design. Its bezel is stationary with Roman numeral engravings and four claws, making an otherwise graceful timepiece with a sporty touch. The bracelet is crafted of brushed stainless steel and red gold and can be customised according to your wrist for a perfect fit. Virtually shatterproof because of the use of sapphire crystal, the watch is highly durable. Anti-reflective treatment on the inside ensures that you can easily read the time even on the brightest of days.
Equipped with the Omega 1376 caliber, the watch has unparalleled precision and reliability. Rhodium-plated finish reduces friction and ensures that the Quartz precision movement functions smoothly. With a battery life of 41 months, the watch can be used for a very long time. Being water-resistant to a depth of 100 metres, the timepiece can be kept on while indulging in water sports like snorkelling and swimming.
The Constellation Collection by Omega was launched in 1952, has since been renowned for its ultra precise movements and elegantly refined cases. Century, a limited edition wristwatch unveiled in 1948 on the firm’s 100th anniversary, is the progenitor of the collection. Due to the overwhelming response received by this watch, the brand launched the Constellation collection, which imbibed the same qualities. In 1982, the Constellation “Manhattan” was launched, with which the four claws or “griffes” were introduced that keeps the sapphire crystal case intact to securely render the watch waterproof.
The Omega Constellation collection has been exemplified in several sub collections that include the Gents’ Collection, Ladies’ Collection, Orbis Constellation Star, Sedna, and the Luxury Edition. The watches in the Gents’ collection feature distinctive design factors – the renowned claws on the case, horizontal links for utmost comfort, and a Constellation star, which is situated at the 6o’ clock position. Featuring a vast range of watches with different sizes, metals, dials, and diamond options to choose from, the Ladies’ Collection contains at least one watch to suit every wrist. The Orbis Constellation Star supports Orbis International – which gives advanced eye care to some of the most inaccessible regions in the world, and it’s Flying Eye Hospital. An 18-carat rose gold alloy, consisting of copper, palladium, and at least 75% gold, has been used to craft the Constellation Sedna. This breathtaking alloy adds an innovative and stunning appeal to the watch, giving it a long lasting rose-coloured hue. The magnificent Omega Constellation Luxury Edition watches showcase multitude of diamonds in spectacular supernova pattern, which dazzles the eyes of the onlooker.
A gold Omega Constellation “Manhattan” was worn by the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev. One of the 20th century’s most popular musicians, cultural icon, actor, and American singer, Elvis Presley had worn a black-dialled Constellation Calendar.
