The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Collection possesses the extraordinary attribute of resistance to magnetic fields greater than 1.5 tesla, being the first among timepieces to achieve this benchmark. With the launch of this range of watches a long standing problem in the field of horology was solved. Unlike its predecessors, this timepiece focuses on the use of selected non-ferromagnetic materials in the movement itself, rather than depending on a shielding container within the watchcase to struggle the consequences of magnetism. Featuring brilliant durability and sporty designs, these watches are also ideal for aquatic sports and voyages.
The Omega 126.96.36.199.06.002 model hosts a teak grey dial, tinted with the teak concept pattern, mounted on a 42 mm case made of stainless steel and 18 k red gold. It consists of a transparent case back, which enables you to peep at the mechanisms of the watch. A bezel made of red gold further adds to the elegance of the timepiece. A date display window is present at 3 o’ clock. Red gold toned indexes specify the hour markers, and the hour hands are luminous for enhanced visibility in the dark and underwater. The case window, made of domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal coated with anti-reflective material on both sides, makes the timeteller durable. Stainless steel is the material used in constructing the bracelet, which gives this timekeeper a sophisticated look.
Water resistant up to 150 m, this timepiece can be worn while swimming without the fear of damaging it. A screw in crown provides for automatic winding in both directions to diminish duration of winding. This timeteller gets its power supply from precise self-winding movement with co-axial escapement. A power reserve of 60 hours allows you to stow away the watch for more than two days without disrupting the movement of the watch. The other functions of the watch include the basic display of hours, minutes and seconds along with the display of date.
Launched in the year 1948, the Omega Seamaster Collection was inspired by the waterproof watches made toward the end of World War II for the British military. The watches in this collection have acclaimed worldwide fame due to their combination of exceptional stability and awe-inspiring designs. These watches are ideal for serious underwater sports and adventures.
This collection features several amazing series under it. First introduced in 1957, the Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial features the same dark dial, symmetrical case, big numbers and hands, and lighter indexes like its predecessor. The Planet Ocean 600M Collection showcases several watches with stunning designs and exclusive Co-axial movements. The Aqua Terra 150M Gents’ collection is easily recognizable because of its “Teak Concept” pattern on the dials. The Seamaster Aqua Terra Ladies’ Collection was the first to be equipped with the cutting-edge anti-magnetic Omega Master Co-Axial calibres. Available in lacquered black or blue dials, the Diver 300M Collection showcase white skeletonized hour and minute hands. The Ploprof 1200M is equipped with Co-axial caliber 8500 and is water-resistant up to 1200 meters. The winding crown located at the 12 o’clock position, surrounded by the two chronograph pushers at its sides; give the Bullhead collection its unique name.
In the James Bond movies since the release of GoldenEye in 1995, the character has consistently worn an Omega Seamaster. The Omega brand ambassador, Michael Phelps, an Olympic swimmer and multiple times gold medallist, wears the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
