Design And Iterations

The Autavia collection exemplifies TAG Heuer's dedication to advanced watchmaking, blending timeless design with cutting-edge functionality. At its core is the in-house calibre Heuer 02, an automatic chronograph movement with an 80-hour power reserve, a column-wheel mechanism, and a vertical clutch system. These features work together to ensure exceptional precision, smooth operation, and durability. Select models also incorporate the innovative calibre five carbon composite hairspring, offering enhanced shock resistance, antimagnetic properties, and stability across varying temperatures.

The key design elements of the Autavia include a versatile bidirectional rotating bezel and a 12-hour GMT function for tracking multiple time zones. The large, easy-to-read dial is protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal for clear visibility. The collection features interchangeable straps and bracelets in calfskin leather, NATO, and stainless steel complemented by polished and satin-brushed finishes. Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2022, TAG Heuer unveiled new models, including two flyback chronographs and a GMT—marking a first in Autavia’s history. These editions bring enhanced functionalities, such as a flyback mechanism that recalls the collection’s aviation and automotive heritage, and dials inspired by the iconic panda-style look of classic models like the Siffert. The chronographs also boast tachymetre scales for measuring speed over distance, further reinforcing the collection's racing spirit.
