What does time mean to you?
Time trumps everything; it’s all you have. It’s one of the most valuable resources. If you don’t manage or utilise it well, it’s wasted.
What is the importance of time in your line of work? Talk of particular instances when time was of the essence.
Time has been very crucial to us. It took us over a year of planning to bring Keventers to life. When we knew we had the right team, size and location, we knew it was the right time to push the button. From opening our flagship outlet, to expanding through franchising and upgrading our corporate team—all these have been precisely timed. Had it not been for the right time and the right place, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Does time play a crucial role in a successful partnership like yours and Joel Pinto’s? How?
Making time for activities that we enjoy as friends, to ensure that not everything is about work, is how we create a balance between our professional and personal lives. Both Joel Pinto (General Manager, Projects) and I are committed to our jobs, so just working out and watching movies has been an important way for us to unwind and bond.
What is the one thing that has stood the test of time for the two of you, individually and as a team?
My friendship with Joel has really stood the test of time. We’ve gone through being friends in school and college, and now we’re working together. We’ve faced many tests but have always come out stronger on the other side. Personally, a philosophy that has stood the test of time for me is the fact that life is short. I have always and will continue to live according to that mantra.
Do you like wearing watches? Which watches do you own? Or what styles do you like?
For me, a gold watch is the gold standard when it comes to watches. It has always been a classic choice. And for someone like me who has a basic sense of style, these kinds of watches really complete an outfit.
What’s the ultimate watch on your wish list?
I have many on the wish list, but currently, my eyes are set on the classic Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.
