Hublot Big Bang Meca-10 Blue Ceramic
Novak Djokovic At The French Open
Earlier this month, tennis superstar Novak Djokovic made history by winning his 23rd Grand Slam title, which made him the most decorated and successful (male) tennis player in the history of the game. Winning this French Open ‘Roland-Garros’ title gave Novak ‘Nole’ Djokovic this exceptional distinction. As he accepted his trophy for this record-breaking victory, Nole was seen wearing his Hoblot Big Bang Meca-10 timepiece. The blue ceramic Big Bang watch is known for its mechanical superiority, with the in-house HUB1201 manufacture calibre, which is manual-winding, with a skeleton display and an indicator that shows the balance of the watch’s whopping 10-day power reserve. This movement is housed within a 45mm case, water-resistant to 100m, which greatly enhances its functional appeal. Nole has been seen wearing this blue timepiece in the past, on more than one occasion since he became an Hublot brand ambassador in 2021.
In a statement released by the brand following this historic victory, the CEO of Hublot, Ricardo Guadalupe stated, “Congratulations Nole! What can we say! You are simply amazing! You are an inspiration, a source of enormous joy, a lion-heart, the ultimate professional and a true friend. Every year you push yourself to new triumphs, proving you truly are first, different and unique.” Guadalupe went on to congratulate Nole on behalf of the entire Hublot family. “Our heartiest and most sincere congratulations on your record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam, and wish you every success as your incredible journey continues. Enjoy this moment. Hublot loves Nole!” he expressed.
Hublot Big Bang Steel and Diamonds
Kylian Mbappé At The French Open
Also an Hublot Ambassador, French footballer Kylian Mbappé was spotted at the French Open as well. Mbappé—a Parisian prodigy who has the footballing world in his grip at 24, as he continues to be the one to watch—was signed on by Hublot about five years ago. Seen in the audience at the Grand Slam tournament, the football star was wearing a diamond-studded Hublot. It was the Big Bang Steel Diamonds. This 41mm automatic chronograph timepiece comes with a textured rubber strap, which perfectly complements the two rows of diamonds on the steel bezel of the edgy case, which is water-resistant to 100m.
IWC Portofino Chronograph 39
James Marsden At The French Open
Ambassador appearances continued at the recently concluded French Open tournament. Also seen was friend of the IWC brand, actor James Marsden, who is known for his roles in the X-Men movies, romantic comedy 27 Dresses, and more recently, the Netflix comedy series Dead to Me. Marsden showed up in the audience during the tennis event, wearing a Portofino timepiece—from what we can tell. The bent lugs and the sleek profile of his watch seemed to be the most telling traits. It was definitely a two-counter chronograph, with a greyish dial. These details lend themselves to the Portofino 39, with a vertical-bicompax layout. Running on an automatic movement that offers a 44-hour power reserve, this sleek number usually comes with a brown strap, but it appears as though Marsden’s had a different strap affixed to it.
