About the Nomos Glashutte Club Collection
History
First introduced in 2007, the Club is Nomos's signature, and highly versatile, sports watch. Over its brief history, the Club has seen numerous iterations in size, movement, and colourways (not to mention the various limited editions).
Features
The Nomos Glashutte Club collection is mixed with various dial colours and sizes. The small seconds on the 6 o'clock marker is omnipresent throughout the collection. Whereas, in the Club Campus series the hour markers are displayed with Arabic numerals with exceptions on the 4 and 8 o'clock markers. At the 4 and 8 o'clock markers the hour markers are displayed in Roman numerals. The Club Campus series also offers free engraving on the case back. Apart from these features, the Club Campus series also features vibrant dial colours such as future orange, deep pink, and purple. The Club Sport neomatik 42 is also equipped with a date window at 3 o'clock.
Movement
Equipped with both manual and automatic movements, the Nomos Glashutte Club collection is home to accurate and robust movements. Movements such as the DUW 3001 are one of the most accurate movements due to the addition of Nomos's signature escapement, the swing system. Whereas, the Club Sport neomatik 42 series is equipped with the DUW 6101 movement. Whereas, the manually winded pieces are equipped with the Alpha movements, Nomos's first in-house calibre.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Guided by the principles of simplicity and performance, German watchmaker Nomos from Glashutte continue to draw appreciation for their in-house movements and the creation of an in-house escapement called the Swing system. This journey of vertical integration began with the launch of their first in-house calibre, Alpha, in 2005. This manual-wound mechanism was, at the time, one of the best mechanical movements globally and maintains this standing even today.
With just 2.6mm thickness, Alpha is an exceptionally slim movement, a tradition that the brand have endured through all their other in-house calibres. Its performance is close to chronometer standards, featuring the signature Glashütte three-quarter plate and stopwork. It powers traditional timekeeping functions along with a stop-seconds mechanism for approximately 43 hours once fully wound. Most of the brand's repertoire benefits from this calibre, including Club, Metro, Tangente, Ludwig, Orion, and Tetra.
