About the Nomos Glashutte Club Collection

The Nomos Glashütte Club Collection is a versatile and youthful range of watches, designed for the adventurous at heart. Launched as a sporty counterpart to Nomos’ more formal models, the Club lineup combines robust construction with playful design cues. The Nomos Glashütte Club collection was launched in 2007, marking the brand's foray into sportier watch designs. The name "Club" is derived from the collection's intent to evoke a sense of community and inclusivity among watch enthusiasts, positioning these models as approachable yet refined timepieces.

Design And Aesthetics

The aesthetic inspiration for the Club collection emphasises sleek lines, bold colours, and an overall sense of youthful dynamism. The Club watches feature a polished stainless steel case with long, curving lugs that give it a distinctive, flowing silhouette. The watch designs lean toward sportiness with their luminous hands and numerals, ensuring legibility in all conditions. Some models, like the Club Campus, include quirky design elements such as the reverse California dial, which mixes Arabic and Roman numerals. Available in sizes from 36mm to 41.5mm, the collection offers a variety of colours, from classic neutrals to bolder options. Moreover, strap options like a vegan velour strap are a nice alternative to the classic bracelet.

Movements And Iterations

The collection is powered by Nomos' in-house calibres, including the manual-wind Alpha and the automatic DUW 3001 in the Neomatik models. These calibres are highly precise and slim, with a power reserve of up to 43 hours. The higher-end Club Sport models feature the DUW 6101, an automatic movement with an ultra-thin profile. The use of Nomos' proprietary swing system further elevates the mechanical prowess of these timepieces, ensuring long-term reliability.

As for the iterations, the Club Campus line, designed for a younger audience or those seeking a more casual watch, features bright pops of colour and fun design details. Meanwhile, the Club Neomatik models are sleeker and more refined, offering a slimmer profile with automatic winding and a more minimalistic design. For the more adventurous, the Club Sport series, water-resistant up to 300 metres, pairs ruggedness with Nomos' signature elegance.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

Guided by the principles of simplicity and performance, German watchmaker Nomos from Glashutte continue to draw appreciation for their in-house movements and the creation of an in-house escapement called the Swing system. This journey of vertical integration began with the launch of their first in-house calibre, Alpha, in 2005. This manual-wound mechanism was, at the time, one of the best mechanical movements globally and maintains this standing even today.

With just 2.6mm thickness, Alpha is an exceptionally slim movement, a tradition that the brand have endured through all their other in-house calibres. Its performance is close to chronometer standards, featuring the signature Glashütte three-quarter plate and stopwork. It powers traditional timekeeping functions along with a stop-seconds mechanism for approximately 43 hours once fully wound. Most of the brand's repertoire benefits from this calibre, including Club, Metro, Tangente, Ludwig, Orion, and Tetra.
