About the Doxa SUB 300 Beta Collection

The success of Doxa’s SUB 300 Beta Sharkhunter was the perfect prelude to the 2023-launched SUB 300 Beta, which forwards a fresh and suave take on the iconic SUB 300. The SUB 300 Beta is a modern timepiece with a highly urbane flair; it channels a contemporary vibe with a traditional connotation. The collection unveiled Doxa’s design ingenuity, heralding a new journey for the brand that has long been a big wheel of the technical sports watch bandwagon.

Design And Aesthetics

In addition to showing off the brand’s design chops, the Doxa SUB 300 Beta collection demonstrates Doxa’s willingness to move slightly away from its well-established codes. In fact, the brilliance of the collection lies in the way it conflates modern details with the signature SUB 300 aesthetic. For the first time, Doxa uses ceramic to fabricate its bezel and crown, which clearly gives the watch a distinct look. Additionally, the wave pattern on the dial of a SUB 300 Beta is a first for the brand. What remains the same? The recognisable cushion-shaped case, the screwed-in caseback and crown, the use of an anti-reflective sapphire crystal caseback, and the presence of a helium escape valve at nine. In a similar vein, the dial retains significant design details, such as the block hour markers, the oversized minute hand, and the date window at three. Of course, SUB 300’s double-scale, saw-tooth architecture of the unidirectional bezel is one of the most welcomed elements in these watches.

A Range Of Vibrant, Streetstyle Watches

The watches within the collection come resplendent in five distinct variations. Three of them flaunt black dials with contrasting accents — orange touches in Professional, yellow in Divingstar and turquoise in Aquamarine. Searambled has a silver-tone dial, while the Caribbean comes with blue ones. All variations are available in complementing rubber straps and the signature ‘beads of rice’ bracelet. Finally, these Doxa watches sport the automatic Sellita SW200 calibre, which boasts a power reserve of 38 hours.
