About the Doxa SUB 300 Beta Collection
The Doxa SUB 300β, released in 2023, marks a new chapter for the brand. Signified by the beta (β), the second letter in Greek, this watch collection reimagines the iconic 1967 SUB 300β through a contemporary lens. Designed with a modern design and an urban look, SUB 300β is a characterful timepiece that will be a reliable companion not only for underwater exploration but for everyday wear as well. Subsequently, while it maintains the adventurous spirit of the original SUB 300 through considered details, it also seamlessly forwards a more versatile aesthetic for today's watch enthusiasts who value both style and function.
A Modern Design
The 316L stainless steel case carries the signature barrel shape but has been slimmed down to 11.95mm and measures 42.5mm in diameter with an elegant 44.5mm lug-to-lug profile. The thinner profile complemented with the signature "No-Decompression" scale contributes to the watch 'form follows function' stance. The flat sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel with brightly coloured depth markings enhance durability and visibility. The dial, with a sunburst finish and embossed wave texture, offers a dynamic appearance, while luminous hour markers and an oversized minute hand ensure readability.
Ultimate Functionality
The Doxa SUB 300β is rich in features that enhance its functionality. It has 300 meters of water resistance and uses the SW200 Sellita automatic movement to keep time with up to 38 hours of power reserve. The watch boasts an attractive helium escape valve at the nine o'clock position, easily noticeable due to its exquisite design. It comes with either a stainless steel beaded rice bracelet or the FKM rubber strap, which connects seamlessly to the 20mm lug and is secured by the signed stainless steel folding clasp that has an integrated extension system.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Sellita, once a reassembly company, is now the second-largest movement maker in Europe. They are known for producing the renowned calibre SW200-1, an automatic movement that serves as a popular alternative to the calibre ETA 2824-2. It is widely used by many watchmakers as the main and base calibre. The SW 200-1 powers essential watch functions such as the three central hands display and date, boasting a 38-hour power reserve and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. However, these specifications can be adjusted by brands to meet their specific requirements.
