About the Chronoswiss Flying Collection
Backdrop
After a brief hiatus, Chronoswiss was relaunched in 2016. During this time, the brand decided to revive some of its most revered collections. One such collection was the Chronoswiss Flying Collection. A collection solely dedicated to regulators, a complication very dear to the watchmakers.
Features
The first watch manufacturer to fit a regulator complication in a wristwatch decided to ante up its game with the Flying collection. The Flying collection is divided into three sub-collections called the Flying Regulator Night and Day, Flying Grand Regulator, and Flying Grand Regulator Skeleton. Starting with the Grand Regulator, the timepiece features a three-dimensional view of the regulator with bright colours complimenting the complication. The bottom of the dial is decorated with a guilloche pattern with the signature case with a knurled bezel and onion crown. Another addition is the Flying Regulator Night and Day. With a similar setup as the Grand Regulator, the Night and Day add a day/night indicator at the 9 o’clock marker and a retrograde date at 3 o’clock.
Movements
Equipped with in-house movements, the Flying collection features three different movements, the C.678, the C.296, and the C.677S. The C.678 is a manual winding movement with a power reserve of approximately 46 hours and a frequency of 18,000 vph. Whereas, the C.296 is an automatic movement which offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours while vibrating at 28,800 vph. Another manual winding movement is the C.677S which provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours.
