Its off-centred dial showcases two meticulously handcrafted rose gold sculptures of the dragon and phoenix, legendary symbols of wisdom and fertility. Each figure is adorned with intricate details like scales and feathers, embodying a mystical charm. The watch features a dial made from a rare stone Verdite, with a unique colour gradient, enhancing the watch’s visual depth. The vibrant background of the dial further elevates its aesthetic appeal, making it a true work of art. About the Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon Collection

Ultrathin Tourbillon echoes Arnold & Son's uncompromising watchmaking excellence with its unequivocally timeless look and its ultra-thin tourbillon. When introduced in 2013, it was the thinnest tourbillon in the market, and today, it is one of the most recognisable and popular watches by the maison. The timepieces within the collection thrive on elegance, and that's not limited to the design. The in-house calibre is a sophisticated piece of machinery; it is only 2.97mm thick and houses a one-minute flying tourbillon.

Design And Aesthetics

The Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon collection seamlessly combines pizzaz with understatement. It carries a classic round slim case where clean lines and elegant curves rule the roost. The watches get their extra character from the dials, which have been a canvas for aesthetical experimentation. Since the debut model, the decoration and finishing on the dial have served as the lodestone. Hours and minutes are to be read from the sub-dial at 12 o'clock, while the perspicacious tourbillon escapement gets the pride of place at six. The rest of the dial design is sparse and has been well-utilised by the brand to flaunt its exceptional craftsmanship.

Movement

Arnold & Son owns a treasure trove of impressive movements. The Ultrathin Tourbillon collection is primarily powered by the manual-winding calibre A&S8200, which promises a power reserve of 90 hours. Arnold & Son later updated this in-house movement to create a calibre A&S8300 that offers a running autonomy of a whopping 100 hours. The line-up also houses a skeletonised version driven by calibre A&S8220.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

The manual-winding calibre A&S8200 powers some early versions of the Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon watches. It is one of the thinnest calibres to be regulated by a tourbillon, measuring only 2.97mm thick. The A&S8200, developed at Arnold & Son's manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, features 29 jewels and an oscillation frequency of 3 Hz. Despite its thinness, this calibre's large barrel provides a rare 90-hour power reserve for a tourbillon.
