About the Arnold & Son Métiers D'Arts Collection
History
In 2014, Arnold & Son launched the TE8 Metiers D’Arts, a limited edition timepiece under the discontinued TE8 collection. After the launch, the Metiers D’Arts timepiece gained positive recognition and was launched as a stand-alone collection.
Essence
Combining the art of handcrafted dials and precision timekeeping, the Arnold & Son Metiers D’Arts collection is a piece of art rather than a timekeeper. The limited-edition collection combines the myth with reality and encompasses the mystical aura of Arnold & Son. Placed with hand-crafted artwork, the Arnold & Son Metiers D’Arts collection is a canvas on which the effects of fine craftsmanship are painted. Inclined toward the Chinese art scenario, the Arnold & Son Metiers D’Arts collection perfectly captures the artistic impression on the dial. The collection takes its ideas from the existing collections such as the Perpetual Moon and Ultrathin Tourbillon and engraves them with artistic complexities. For example, the Perpetual Moon “Year of the Ox” celebrates the Chinese zodiac signs, whereas the Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon Dragon & Phoenix celebrates the symbol of male vigour and fertility through Chinese traditions.
Features & Movements
The Arnold & Son Metiers D’Arts collection is home to some unique timepieces made with unique materials. For example, the dial of the Perpetual Moon ‘Year of the Ox’ is made with haematite gemstone and the buffalo placed over the 6 o’clock marker is hand-engraved with 18 kt yellow gold. Moreover in the Perpetual Moon ‘Year of the Tiger’, the Tiger is also hand-engraved with 18 kt red gold. Inside the Perpetual Moon series, the A&S1512 takes over the timekeeping duties. The dial of the Arnold & Son Ultrathin Tourbillon Dragon & Phoenix series is equipped with unique materials such as Verdite, Bronzite, Eudialyte, Marcasite, and Pietersite. The hand-engraved Dragon & Phoenix on these timepieces are made with 18 kt red gold. The Dragon & Phoenix is further complemented by the A&S8200 movement which is fitted with a flying tourbillon at the 6 o’clock marker.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
In the midst of providing each and every iteration in the horological world, Arnold & Son decided to incorporate a sleek flying tourbillon. Inside the Arnold & Son, Ultrathin Tourbillon is the finely tuned and crafted A&S8200. The A&S8200 is a manual-winding movement that offers a power reserve of approximately 90 hours while vibrating at 21,600 vph.
