History
Launched in 2009, the Perrelet Turbine collection is a creative and passionate presentation of the Double Rotor concept from the late 90s. Considered the flagship model of Perrelet, the Turbine features a turbine-shaped rotor on the dial side and is liked by enthusiasts and collectors alike. With this passionate delivery of traditional watchmaking combined with avant-garde design philosophies, Turbine has defied basic design ideas.
Features
The Perrelet Turbine collection’s mainstay is the rotating turbine on the dial side. The blades of the turbine are decorated with various patterns and colours, such as carbon fibre, camouflage, or luminescent material, giving the dial a striking visual effect. The turbine rotates freely in one direction, creating a dynamic and mesmerizing display that captures the attention of onlookers. The Turbine collection also boasts impressive mechanical features, with automatic movements that have a power reserve of up to 42 hours. Available in various iterations, such as the Pilots, Yacht Diver, GMT, and Chrono, the Turbine offers its unique DNA with utilitarian purposes also. Keeping things simple, the Turbine Evo provides a simplistic approach towards this complicated collection. The Turbine collection also features a palette for women. Called the Turbine Lady, these Turbines are fitted with diamonds on the rotor. Following the road less travelled, the Specialities are fitted with a Pilot’s iteration which is fitted with a slide ruler on the bezel for all those complicated calculations. Whereas, the Yacht Timer offers better navigation for the maritime world with a windrose compass fixed on the inner bezel. Diving deeper into the complications, the collection also features a robust chronograph and a GMT iteration with some Turbines made with carbon fibre. The Turbine does not shy away from holding horological complications inside the collection. Adding the revered tourbillon, the Turbine Tourbillon fits the anti-gravity instrument at the 12 o’clock marker marking the accuracy meter to the red line.
Limited Editions
In a brilliant collaboration with Label Noir, Perrelet created a gothic interpretation of the Turbine with blacked-out exteriors. Whereas, there is also a vibrant variant called the Turbine Rainbow. Turbine Full Lum features a luminescent dial with the dial side rotor also fitted with luminescence. For the connoisseurs of erotica, Perrelet offers the Turbine Erotic which features an erotic image behind the rotating rotor. In similar setups, the Turbine also features Skull, Tiger, and Rainbow. A bright representation of the horological ingenuity of Perrelet, the Turbine Tourbillon features a tourbillon at the 12 o ‘clock marker.
