SpotlightHot And Cold: The New Nomos Glashütte Club Campus In Bright Red And Blue
Nomos Glashütte extends their Club Campus collection with two new bright dial variants, Red Nonstop and Endless Blue timepieces
May We Recommend
German watchmakers Nomos Glashütte add two new vivid dial hues to their youthful Club Campus line: Red Nonstop and Endless Blue. The orangish-red dial is reflective of fiery passion or even a delectable fruit punch, while the blue dial can reflect of peace, calm waters, blue skies, and rain. Both the bright dials cut a sharp contrast, encased in stainless steel cases and attached to matching grey or steel straps.
Club Campus: A Multitude Of Options
The two new Nomos Glashütte Club Campus timepieces carry forward the brand’s minimalistic, Bauhaus-inspired design vocabulary. All Club Campus iterations offer design options that allow the buyer to tweak the watch to best suit their look. For instance, the new duo comes in two case sizes: 36mm case measuring 8.2mm thick, and the larger 38mm case—formally called Club Campus 38—measuring 8.5mm height wise. There is a choice between two caseback options. The closed screw-down caseback features etched details of the water resistance, the series, model number, along with a central blank space to invite customised engraving, while the open-worked caseback is sealed with sapphire crystal, providing a clear, unobstructed view of the movement. These timepieces come fitted with a steel bracelet, or velvet, grey, hand-stitched strap with rembordé edges made from carbon-neutral Alcantara vegan velour.
Clean, Uncluttered Club Campus Dials
Both the Club Campus variants feature round metal cases and bezels, and curved lugs and bracelet, polished with a mirror finish. The cases cradle reverse California-style dials, which means Arabic hour markers are placed on the top half, while Roman numerals occupy the bottom half. Rhodium-plated hour and minute hands point to these hour markers to indicate the right time. The hands and hour markers are coated in white Super-LumiNova, which emits a blue glow in low-light areas. A small seconds sub-dial positioned at six o’clock adds to the time-telling function. A short, bright neon orange hand indicates the seconds, and while this hand appears like a bright pop of colour on the blue dial, it can be difficult to spot on the red dial given its similar tone.
The red and blue Club Campus iterations run on the in-house manual winding movement Alpha calibre, featuring 17 jewels. When full wound, the watch offers upto 43-hour power reserve. Given its tight, compact frame, the watch is upto 100m water resistant.
