Commanding Attention: Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jade Dial
Sourced from Wyoming, USA, the jade employed in crafting the dial for the Streamliner Tourbillon Wyoming Jade is a 100-percent natural stone. Untreated to preserve its genuine character, ensuring a raw and exceptionally beautiful appearance, every dial is unique since each jade slice is slightly different, showcasing subtle, naturally occurring marks and unique shades. The outstanding quality of the jade is evident in its uniformly composed, nearly immaculately pure state, revealing its exceptional beauty.
The production of jade dials showcases the expertise of skilled lapidary as it incorporates a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. Utilising CNC technology, the real challenge lies in delicately slicing the jade to a thickness of just 1 to 1.5mm, rendering it quite fragile. Following this delicate process, the slice undergoes meticulous finishing and painstaking hand polishing which is carried out with care to eliminate any chips or scratches while accentuating the natural brilliance of the jade before being affixed to the dial plate.
There are strict handling protocols in working with the stone. During all processes, it must be cut and polished not only with precision but with extreme care, in a temperature-controlled environment, to prevent it from cracking or breaking. A single crack or scratch can render the dial sliver useless, and the cost of such imperfections can amount to thousands. Since this particular shade of jade is rare, the watch is limited to 100 pieces.
