May We Recommend
Eccentric and elegant in equal doses, H. Moser & Cie. has undertaken a new creative route for the creation of this year’s Endeavour Flying Hours variants that are tailored after the resounding success of the 2018 edition. While both the watches exhibit H. Moser & Cie.’s futuristic display of time, the real deal lies in the brand’s muse for the watches ie the planetary system that led to the inception of timekeeping as we know it today.
An Ingenious Dial
The cutting-edge design of the dial, combined with a superlative colour scheme, make for a unique iteration of the planetary system. The play of circles to interpret time may seem complex at first, but is extremely intriguing. The large sapphire disc in the centre indicates minutes based on a 240-degree sector, while the three sub-dial discs have hour numerals etched on them and interplay with the centre circle to display time. Like the planets, the watchmaker has built each disc to have its own axis. Dressed in a radiant blue tone, the dial is an interplay of rhodium-plated fumé, which serves as the perfect background for the ‘funky blue’ hour sub-dials. To ensure heightened legibility, this particular reference is infused with Globolight® and Super-LumiNova.
The Intricate Craftsmanship
Powering the watches is the HMC806 automatic calibre, which ensures at least three days of power. The Neuhausen am Rheinfall-based manufacture incorporates the movement with the escapement, Straumann© hairspring and the automatic bidirectional pawl winding system. This 100-piece limited edition is housed in a 42mm white gold case. The finishing touch to the Endeavour Flying Hours in Super-LumiNova blue is a dark grey alligator leather strap.
