What does time mean to you?

I believe that, at this moment, you are the youngest you will ever be and the oldest you have ever been. So what’s important is to value today and respect time because it will never come back.

What is the importance of time in your line of work? Talk of particular instances when time was of the essence.

I think time is essential for any line of work. We have to meet deadlines, and we are always making sure that we deliver on time. There are also weeks in between when time seems to pass very slowly. We call this period ‘off-season’, and this is when we take it easy

How does time impact creativity and your vision?

There are times when I’m at my creative best when the schedule is tight. But then sometimes you definitely need to take some time off. Personally speaking, the chaos in the city really blocks my creative energy, so I like to get out and travel. The time of the day also impacts my vision. I sometimes love working in the night when everyone’s asleep and it’s peaceful.

If you could travel in time, which era of fashion (and in which part of the world) would you visit?

If I could go back in time, I’d love to visit Paris in the 1920s. It would be amazing to experience the Art Deco movement, which was the era of the artists, and the optimism after World War I. It would be like playing Owen Wilson’s character from Woody Allen’s Midnight In Paris. Other than that, I’d choose the late 60s or the early 70s because I just can’t get the hippie out of me. It’s all about freedom, music, love, peace and the bohemian life!

Do you like wearing watches? Which styles do you like?

I love wearing watches as long as they are sleek, minimal and sophisticated. Simple is the new sexy after all. Although, I must admit that I have gotten out of the habit of wearing timepieces at the moment.
