Round-UpCelebrity Watch—June 2022: The ‘Time 100’ Gala, MTV Movie Awards, Tony Awards And More
While Omega made the biggest splash on red carpets in June, there was also a smattering of Bulgari, IWC, Panerai and Jacob & Co. Here are some of the most noteworthy watch sightings of the past month

IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph
Chris Evans At the MTV Movie Awards
One of Hollywood’s more popular film awards, The MTV Movie Awards see a lot of mainstream movie stars and A-list celebrities turning out more casually than they do at formal award shows. This was more than evident from actor Chris Evans’ attire. The former Captain America star chose a red-and-black letterman-style jacket and a ‘NASA’ baseball cap as a part of his ensemble. And to go with it, he wore a steel chronograph watch from IWC. It was the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, with a black dial and a steel bracelet, and it could be seen very clearly when Evans went up on stage to present the award for ‘best film’, which went to Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph here comes in a 43mm steel case and is quite ideal for daily-wear. It runs on an automatic movement offering a 44-hour power reserve.
Bulgari Octo Finissimo
Chris Hemsworth At The Thor: Love And Thunder Sydney Premiere
With the highly-awaited Thor sequel set to be released next week, the movie’s premiere events have included one in Sydney, in lead actor Chris Hemsworth’s native Australia. It took place on Monday, June 27. While his co-lead Natalie Portman—whose character takes on the title of ‘Mighty Thor’ in this movie—was absent from the event, Hemsworth brought along his wife, Spanish model and actress Elsa Pataky, and their two sons, Tristan and Sasha. The actor, who has played the ‘God of Thunder’ in over seven of Marvel’s live-action films before Love And Thunder, was dressed in an all-black ensemble. It was the perfect backdrop against which to juxtapose an all-gold watch—the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic in rose gold. The time-only Octo looked extremely sleek—being one of the slimmest mechanical watches ever created—with its chiselled architecture making a striking impression while peeking out from under Hemsworth’s cuff.
Omega De Ville Trésor
Andrew Garfield At The ‘Time 100’ Gala And The Tony Awards
Andrew Garfield has been in the limelight recently for his Oscar-nominated role in Tick, Tick… Boom! and for reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). So it’s no surprise that he’s on the ‘Time 100’ list of the most influential people of 2022. Garfield attended the Time magazine gala dressed in a black three-piece tuxedo with an oversized bowtie, paring it with a classic dress watch from Omega. The De Ville Trésor with a silvery-white dial and a black leather strap is a wholesome Master Chronometer watch, which is as elegant as it is powerful, with elongated, sleek markers and refinement through and through. In fact, the actor also attended the 2022 Tony Awards wearing the same watch, quite apparently. At this event, the Tony winner paired the watch with an all-black ensemble, featuring a velvet jacket.
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra
Andrew Garfield At Chanel’s Tribeca Festival Artists’ Dinner
Garfield chose an Omega watch at yet another public appearance in June. This time, it was at Chanel’s annual Tribeca Festival Artists’ Dinner. Seen in a more casual ensemble—dressed in beige tones—Garfield seemed to have been wearing a Seamaster Aqua Terra with a brown leather strap. We’re guessing it’s one of the earlier editions from the Aqua Terra series with elements of the case in Sedna gold, and housing a Master Chronometer movement within.
Jacob & Co. Epic X Tourbillon Baguette
Simu Liu at the ‘Time 100’ Gala
Also named as one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2022, actor Simu Liu was present at the gala held in June as well. The star of the recent Marvel film, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings turned out in bold hues. Seen in a vivid blue outfit, Liu chose to complement his jacket’s metallic golden buttons with jewellery in similar tones, as well as a very bold timepiece. It was a gold Jacob & Co. Epic X Tourbillon paved with baguette-cut diamonds. This gold edition is definitely one that you wouldn’t find too easily, as it doesn’t seem to be a part of the current Epic X collection from the statement-making brand.
Panerai Luminor
Chris Pratt At The Jurassic World: Dominion Premiere
The third part of the Jurassic World series, starring Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt in the lead roles, premiered earlier this month. The much-awaited sequel to 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom united the cast with actors from Steven Spielberg’s first Jurassic Park (1993), including Oscar winner Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum. While all these stars made an appearance at the film’s premiere, Chris Pratt was seen wearing a grey suit—very unlike his character, Owen—paired with a gold Panerai timepiece. The watch was definitely a Luminor. It seemed like it was a Luminor Marina—on the larger side—with a dark-hued Panerai sandwich dial, complemented by a dark leather strap.
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra
Glen Powell At The Top Gun: Maverick South Korean Premiere
Earlier this month, the cast and people behind Top Gun: Maverick attended the South Korean premiere of the hit film in Seoul. With other events planned around the screening, the cast, led by star Tom Cruise, made one impressive appearance after another. Glen Powell, who played bad boy Lt Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin in the sequel of the iconic 1986 movie was seen wearing an Omega watch during more than one of these appearances. From the looks of it, he seems to have been wearing a Seamaster Aqua Terra watch, from the 2021 edition of the series. This lifestyle subset of Omega’s dive watch collection has a redesigned bracelet, and features dressier elements than earlier versions from the same line.
Omega Trésor, Constellation and Speedmaster
Alessandra Ambrosio, Miguel Bernardeau and Manu Ríos An Omega ‘Her Time’ Event
A celebration of their legacy of making products specifically with women in mind, Omega’s ‘Her Time’ is an exhibition of some of their most inspired and iconic timepieces made for women. The brand hosted an event in Madrid, as an opening of their ‘Her Time’ exhibition in the Spanish capital city, which was to showcase some of their exceptional watches made for women from various fields, from nursing to aviation. Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio, who’s been associated with the brand for a long time, was present and seen wearing the De Ville Mini Trésor. Paired with a pristine white dial made from grand feu enamelling, the watch’s Toile de Jouy strap features a pattern from 18th-century France.
Also seen among the attendees were Spanish actors Miguel Bernardeau and Manu Ríos. Stars of Élite, Netflix’s hit Spanish teen-drama series, these young gentlemen were sporting a couple of Omega icons as well. Bernardeau, who played Guzman in the Netflix show, wore a Speedmaster Moonwatch in gold; while Ríos, who portrays Patrick, was also wearing a gold number—the new Constellation Master Chronometer.
