A household name in itself, the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi ScubaTec is back in a brand new rose gold avatar. Taking inspiration from the deep blue sea, the award-winning chronometer has won several awards which include the prestigious Watch of the Year Award.

A truly iconic timepiece, Carl F. Bucherer has managed to re-invent the ScubaTec by introducing it in a different variation: the rose gold and it is nothing short of beautiful. The timepiece houses a COSC certified chronometer movement and features a water resistance of 500m, a unidirectional bezel with an integrated SuperLuminova. The Case: 44.6mm case crafted out of rose gold and blackened titanium

As the name suggests, the Carl F. Buchere Patravi ScubaTec is crafted out of rose gold and blackened titanium 44.6mm case. With strong lugs attached to a 44.6mm case and a height of 13.45mm, one would assume the watch would sit heavy on the wrist which surprisingly it does not! While the formative design of the case stays true to the long-standing watchmaking tradition of Carl F. Bucherer, the minute changes in the design like the incorporation of straight lines and angles lean towards a contemporary and modern approach.

Sturdy in form and structure, the case of the ScubaTec houses an automatic helium valve and logo-engraved screw-down crown on each side of the case. The watch uses a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides that further improves the timepiece’s resistance against wear and tear.

The Movement: COSC certified Swiss automatic movement

As much as the Carl F. Bucherer Patravi ScubaTec is iconic on the outside, its insides are not far behind. It houses a robust and reliable caliber CFB 1950.1 automatic movement based on the Swiss ETA 2892 which is a COSC certified chronometer. COSC (Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres) is the most prestigious and widely recognised certification in the watch world. It involves testing movements with a winding balance and over the course of 15 days is tested under a variety of temperatures and positions. For a movement to earn a COSC certification, it requires the movement to run within 8 precisely defined parameters.
