Made over the reliable ETA 2824/2 movement, the engine driving the Type 5 features a caseback winding mechanism with a Ressence Compression Lock System and the patented ROCS 5 module. With the addition of a magnetic transmission, the movement delivers accurate measurements of time while delivering a power reserve of approximately 36 hours.
ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The calibre ROCS 5 powers the hours, minutes, a 90-second runner, and a temperature gauge in Ressence's dive watches, the Type 5. Similar to the other movements by the brand, the ROCS 5 consists of two modules - a highly modified ETA 2824 calibre as the base, accompanied by the ROCS module. Ressence's patented ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System) mechanism features rotating discs instead of traditional hands, creating a dynamic orbital display. With a convex dial, complex gear train, and crownless design, it offers an intuitive, fluid, and visually captivating way to read time, enhancing functionality and aesthetics. ROCS 5 is a self-winding movement with 41 jewels and 25 gears. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour to provide 36 hours of power reserve.
