About the Perrelet Lab Peripheral Collection
The Lab Peripheral collection by Perrelet represents a fusion of innovative design and technical mastery, with a focus on sleek aesthetics and mechanical prowess. Launched in 2019, this collection was conceived to showcase Perrelet’s forward-thinking approach while remaining rooted in their long-standing horological tradition. The signature feature of these watches is the "Peripheral Rotor," which is visible on the dial side, offering a captivating view of the movement's operation without compromising the overall elegance. The collection is distinguished by its balance of modernity and tradition, with a minimalist yet bold design that highlights the beauty of the mechanical elements.
Features
Across the current lineup, Lab Peripheral watches are characterised by their distinct 42mm stainless steel cases and ultra-thin bezels. The octagonal cases housing unique dials reveal the intricate mechanics, with many showcasing the peripheral rotor in action. Sapphire crystal covers on both the front and back allow an unobstructed view of the movement. The watches feature Perrelet's automatic in-house calibres, and the aesthetic focus is on clean lines and functionality. Each timepiece combines precision with elegance, boasting complications like a dual time zone, big date, or simple time-and-date configurations.
Iterations
Notable iterations of the Lab Peripheral collection include the Lab Peripheral Dual Time Big Date and the Lab Peripheral 3 Hands & Date. The Dual Time Big Date is distinguished by its in-house calibre P-421, featuring a dual-time display, a prominent big date complication, and a subtle day/night indicator, all elegantly framed by the signature peripheral rotor. In contrast, the 3 Hands & Date iteration, driven by the calibre P-411, adopts a minimalist ethos, prioritising essential timekeeping with a refined, textured dial and a discreet date window, exemplifying the collection's balance between sophistication and functionality. With a focus on understated sophistication and technical ingenuity, the Lab Peripheral collection continues to be a beacon of modern Swiss watchmaking.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The Perrelet P-421 calibre showcases exceptional watchmaking artistry. Its hand-wound movement initially appears to forgo an oscillating mass, offering an unobstructed view of the beautifully adorned bridges, ratchet wheel, and regulating organ. However, upon closer examination, one discovers the cleverly positioned peripheral rotor adjacent to the minute track, providing the wearer with an uninterrupted view of the meticulously crafted movement components. The four rhodium-plated bridges, adorned with traditional Côtes de Genève motif, create a stunning visual spectacle when viewed from the rear. Two of these bridges bear elegant golden text, adding a touch of opulence to the already exquisite movement. Adjacent to the regulating organ, a sea of perlage graces the mainplate, while the ratchet wheel is adorned with a mesmerising sunray pattern, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. The movement's balance oscillates at a frequency of 28,800vph. With 30 jewels integrated into the movement and a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. This mechanism powers the Lap Peripheral Dual Time Big Date.
