About the Oris Divers Collection
History
The Oris Divers collection is the progeny of the first diving watch launched by Oris in 1965. Heavily influenced by the vintage timepiece, the Divers collection was revived again in 2015 at Baselworld.
Features
Referring to the original timepiece, the watches under the collection are called the Oris Divers Sixty-Five. A simple yet intuitive set of diving timepieces, the Oris Divers collection is equipped with minimal features such as a uni-directional bezel in a ceramic insert and a date window that is either fixed at the 6 o’clock marker or the 3 o’clock marker. Available in various case sizes ranging from 38mm to 46mm, the collection caters to both men and women.
Limited Editions
The Divers collection is also home to various limited edition timepieces such as the Divers Chronos. The Divers Chronos is made in collaboration with the legendary watch magazine, Chronos. The Divers Chronos is just limited to 200 pieces. Apart from the Chronos, the Oris Divers is also home to the limited edition Carl Brashear Calibre 401, the first watch by the brand that is made with a bronze case. The Carl Brashear Calibre 401 features a small seconds window at the 6 o’clock marker. This limited-edition timepiece was released to pay a tribute to the first amputee diver to be recertified as a United States Navy Diver and the first African American Master Diver, Carl Brashear. Apart from the Carl Brashear limited-edition, another limited edition timepiece, the Oris Divers Holstein Edition 2020 is a chronograph with a bronze case. The chronograph sub-dials are fixed at the 3 and 9 o’clock markers.
Movements
The Oris Divers collection is equipped with the Oris 733 automatic movement. Based on the Sellita SW 200-1, the Oris 733 offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and vibrates at 28,800 vph. Inside the limited edition Divers Chronos is the in-house Oris 400 automatic movement. The Oris 400 offers a power reserve of whopping 120 hours while beating at 28,800 vph.
