Longines Evidenza

History
The Longines Evidenza is a collection inspired from the 1920's, which is widely regarded as the era of change. The freedom of expression afforded to the artists of watches allowed them to come up with never seen before designs for the devices. The watches designed by the Swiss watchmakers in this era have been the point of reference of the Evidenza collection. The shape of the watches in this collection is also what sets these editions apart. The Tonneau shape of every watch is reminiscent of the Longines’ editions dating back to 1911.
Design
As mentioned earlier the case of the Longines Evidenza L2.643.4.73.4 is of Tonneau shape, a departure from the traditional round and oval shaped cases. The material used for the casing is stainless steel with the silver ‘flinque’ colour complementing the case perfectly. The hands of the watch have been painted blue, in synchronization with the Arabic numerals used for hour markers. Scratch resistant sapphire crystal has been used as the case window and has been coated with layers of anti-reflective material on the underside. The watch uses a brown leather alligator strap, providing a unique contrast to the whole look.
Features
The case of Longines Evidenza L2.643.4.73.4 is water resistant up to 3 Bar. The watch calibre is L650 which comes with self winding mechanical chronograph movement beating at 28’800 vibrations per hour. This watch is equipped with a 42 hour power reserve. The watch offers various other functions including ‘date display’ apart from the regular time-keeping features. The chronograph mechanism displays small seconds at the 3 o’clock of the dial, a 12 hour counter at 6 o’clock and a 30 minute counter at the 9 o’clock position of the dial.
