Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto Blue

Backdrop

Laurent Ferrier has a history rooted in motorsports. Laurent Ferrier and his partner François Servanin raced in a Porsche 935 during the 1979 Le Mans. Ferrier finished third behind Paul Newman. This memory is close to both Servanin’s and Ferrier’s hearts. To immortalise this event, the duo created a timepiece. Called the Sport Auto, the event is inscribed with meticulously designed timepieces inside the Laurent Ferrier Sport collection.

Features

With a beautiful compilation of firm and round curves, the Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto has a perfectly balanced design. Made with grade 5 titanium, the perfectly crafted case measures 41.5mm. The sporty and curvaceous silhouette of Sport Auto is derived from Ferrier’s love for curvy cars especially the Porsche 935 and Lotus 18. Complimenting the titanium case is the integrated bracelet which is also made from grade 5 titanium.

Movevment

The very first automatic movement by Laurent Ferrier, the LF270.01 was specially designed to complement the sporty nature of the Sport Auto. Borrowing the balancing act in a minimal space from the beloved Flat 6 powering the same Porsche 935 from Ferrier’s stint at Le Mans. The LF270.01 balances the rich legacy of the micro-rotor with an escapement in a small space while offering a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. The movement in itself requires more than 139 manual finishing operations.
