Backdrop

Launched in 1994, Ikepod released some of their best timepieces under the aegis of Marc Newson. With brilliant collaborations and a diverse range of watches, Ikepod garnered a following of designers and horological enthusiasts. It was in 2012 that Newson decided to move on with Ikepod, and with it went the brain behind the designs. In 2018 under new leadership, Ikepod was revived again. With a Kickstarter campaign, the revived brand launched the Ikepod Chronopod collection alongside Duopod.

Features

Retaining Ikepod’s minimalistic approach, the Chronopod collection displays a chronograph complication in a UFO-shaped 44mm case. The design is directly inspired by the now-retired Hemipode collection. The dial displays three sub-dials, a 24-hour counter at 3, a running seconds at 6, and a 30-minute counter at 9 o’clock. Some pieces in the collection are designed by Emmanuel Gueit, such as the Gold Dots and the Black Beauty. Gueit is a watch designer famous for designing watches that appeal to the younger generation.

Movement

Powered by a reliable Japanese quartz movement, the Ikepod Chronopod is equipped with the Miyota JS 25 Chronograph calibre. This movement is fitted in some of the most renowned chronographs available in the watchmaking community.
