The Gerald Charles Masterlink Blue is a watch that embodies the brand’s commitment to design innovation and craftsmanship. The timepiece features a captivating deep blue sunburst dial, which exudes elegance and depth, while the dynamic asymmetrical case stands out with its iconic "smile" at six o'clock and squarer lines at the top. This creates a balance between the sinuous curves on the bottom and the geometric sharpness above, offering a harmonious contrast of shapes. The bracelet mirrors this interplay, with links that echo the curve of the case at the bottom and align with the top's angular lines. The Masterlink’s double-layered design enhances the dial's play of light, making it an eye-catching piece that works both as a sophisticated dress watch and a statement accessory.

About the Gerald Charles Masterlink Collection
Described by the brand as "more elegant than a dress watch and better performing than a sports watch," Masterlink—launched in 2024—seamlessly blends supreme functionality with refined aesthetics. Following in Maestro's footsteps, Masterlink also embodies the brand's core ethos — legacy, versatility, and craftsmanship. The best way to spot a Masterlink watch would be by its characteristic Maestro case, which features the "smile" at six o'clock and an integrated bracelet, a brand's first. Gerald Charles are known for their signature Maestro collection; however, the Masterlink collection is surely gunning for that position.
Masterlink vs. Maestro
Before his demise, Gerald Charles Genta created hundreds and thousands of new watch designs, which were put safely inside the vault, waiting to see the light of day. One such design, now named the Masterlink collection, has finally made its grand debut. Admittedly, being a stablemate to the iconic Maestro comes with its challenges. One cannot help but draw comparisons between the two. The commonality between these collections is the brand's signature Maestro case with a double bezel and a smile at six. The difference lies in the integrated bracelet, which holds Masterlink together as opposed to the rubber strap used in Maestro. The integrated bracelet mimics the curvature of the case throughout. The current roster of the Masterlink collection has blue and silver-coloured dial iterations, completed with a signature sunburst finish and impressive vertical stripes. Both versions feature a mix of Arabic and index markers, while a date aperture remains absent to ensure a clean, harmonious look.
Movement
The Masterlink watches are equipped with an in-house self-winding movement, GCA 5401, which provides a respectable power reserve of 50 hours. The mechanism features an offset micro-rotor, helping it achieve an impressive thinness of 2.67 mm.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The calibre GCA 5401, which powers the 2024-released Masterlink, is developed exclusively for Gerald Charles by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. It is an ultra-slim automatic movement, measuring only 2.7mm in thickness. The GCA 5401 beats at a frequency of 21,600bph and offers a power reserve of 50 hours. It is driven by a micro-rotor, designed with a sandblasted base and a sunburst brushed top. More fine decorations adorn the movement, including vertical Côtes de Genève stripes on bridges, which are coated in anthracite grey and look striking against the gold micro-rotor. Additionally, the movement features fine finishings and the signature Gerald Charles star-shaped screws, first introduced in the Maestro 8.0 Squelette watches.
