About the Frederique Constant Vintage Rally Collection
History
It’s in sharing the common passion that two brilliant minds come together and create together that endows the beauty of human hands. Since 2004, Frederique Constant has joined hands with British car manufacturer Austin-Healey in creating limited-edition timepieces that commemorate the automobiles made by Austin-Healey.
Features
The Frederique Constant Vintage Rally collection is inspired by the sports cars that were prevalent during the 1950s. The Vintage Rally collection is equipped with two series, the Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph Automatic and Vintage Rally Healey Auto Small Seconds. The Chronograph variant is fitted with two sub-dials which resemble the dashboard of Austin-Healey 100s. The minute counter is fixed at the 3 o’clock marker and the 60 seconds counter at the 9 o’clock marker. Another iteration in the collection is the Vintage Rally Healey Auto Small Seconds. In this series, the offset small seconds sub-dial is fixed at the 9 o’clock marker. Apart from all these features, the timepieces under this collection are fixed with a ‘Healey’ logo at the 6 o’clock marker.

The no date Tri-compax style can be seen used by many top tier legendary chronographs, for example: the Rolex Daytona, Omega Speedmaster Professional, the Brietling 1952 Navitimer and Jaeger- LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph to name a few.
Now we have the Frederique Constant Peking to Paris to add to this very illustrious list of chronographs. For a watch enthusiast like myself operating on a very restrictive budget the FC PP is a welcome addition to my watch collection. It comfortably satisfies all the hallmarks of a vintage luxury chronograph. Apart from being a no date tri-compax this piece can also boast a number of other refinements; Individually numbered limited edition, in-house movement FC-396, sapphire case-back that displays a special rotor engraved with the Peking to Paris logo and a very well-constructed signed folding clasp. The Frederique Constant PP costs a mere fraction of these other more expensive chronographs yet in terms of features it is directly on par. My only issue with this piece is that the strap should have been an original crocodile leather. Nonetheless this watch is a great value purchase and an opportunity not to be missed by anyone looking for a quality dress mechanical chronograph under $2500.00
